  8. Ah yes some of the Cecil Plain'ites certainly captured some media attention today. I didn't get the full story on the local WIN News tonight but in the screen capture on the News I did spot a chopper in the back ground. With the colour I assume it was the CH10 Chopper Regards Scott

  11. Hi all here is a post event press release for the 2010 David Hack Classic Meet Aviation theme - Flight Training Experiance Fly-in incorporating the Gathering of the Harvards and Wirraways I wish to thank all those who came along and supported the event this year. Such support is never taken for granted. We certainly had some nice aircraft along this year with a lovely gathering of warbirds and wish to extend a very big thank you to these operators. Temora Aviation Museum Warbird Aviation Adventure Flights Caboolture Warbird Museum/Sandora + syndicate groups Aerotec QLD along with the private operators of those lovely machines. The list included- 2 Wirraways VH-BFF VH-MFW 5 Harvards (T-6 and SNJ) VH-NAG(SNJ-4) VH-TEX VH-SNJ VH-PEM VH-LNT 6 T-28 Trojans VH-ZUC VH-ZUK VH-ZSH VH-DPT VH-FNO VH-TRO To this list are other types including(but not restricted to) Fiat G-59-4B YAK 52s Yak18T Nanchangs Winjeel Stearman CT/4As DH-84 Dragon Tiger Moths and Chippys And the Army contribution Kiowa and Blackhawk and various other classic, GA and sport aircraft types All these appearing aircraft made a major contribution to the sucess of this charity event so I can not express enough my appreciation to the above operators of these aircraft. And wish to also extend this to all the vollunteers as well, from those working and looking after the airside to the setting up and pull down crews and all those involved in the catering. Massive job for the time frame alocated. And thank you to the local Regional Council too, who have been very accomodating and for next year we are looking to make big changes with the set-up too, especially getting the aircraft closer to the public. Which I know wasn't the easiest this year, however we had guidelines to work to. just a matter of getting the balance right. But there will be changes to the set-up. And yes from all post event reports looks very positive for the event to be run next year. Oh and not to mention the 576 vehicles which were displayed as well. vehicles from 1908 through to the some of the newer Lamboghini's (which spit had already been kind to mention) and all the other vintage classic types one could imagine. A very special and unique event. Kind regards Scott

  15. G'day all and really good to hear the positive comments about the event One of the things we are going to work seriously on is public access to the aircraft. i know it wasn't easy and we had guidelines we had to work with. However we had the council reps from the monster devision in attendance and they were the first to aknowledge that it was hard to get people closer so expect changes to the format for next. Yes thats right, I have the green light to start organising next year so watch this space for the dates and the new theme. And really wish to pass on a sincere note of gratitude to those who came along to support the event whether they drove or flew in. Without that support it would not have been the success it was. Regards Scott
  16. G'day all And i wish to confirm the Temora Aviation Museum Wirraway made it safely to Toowoomba arriving approx 4pm yesterday(Saturday 1st). Scott
  17. G'day Spin Looks like we maybe in luck with the weather. The weekly outlook (on ABC TV anyway) is looking good. Looks as though a High is going to dominate as the week progresses and theyare talking partly cloudy and sunshine for next weekend. Now the only factor left in this is hopefully the wind is not bad and favours 11 or 29 as 06/24 will be closed Saturday afternoon, refer to ERSA. Scott
  18. G'day Spin All is going along well..........well I think it is anyway Have a number of aircraft confirm their attendance so far. for the gathering of Harvards and Wirraways have got 2 Wirraways and 7 Harvards And can confirm that Wirraway BFF from Temora has been confirmed to attend which is great news. Other aircraft types penciled in for the event under the flight training theme include but not limited to, 5 North American T-28 Trojans, with the possibility of another T-28B passing through on the Sunday CAC Winjeels, Fiat G-594B dual control, Stearmans, Ct-4A/E's, Ryan ST-A, Chipmunks, Tiger Moths, Austers, C140's, C180's, C170's, C172B's, C150's, Yak 52's, Nanchangs, Yak18T, luscombe and inclusive to this list are the new generation LSA & GA flight training types and all the variey of types arriving and filling the static parking area which I just cannot wait to see the line up on those. So heres for good weather. As time permits I will try and catch up with you good folk who are intending on flying in and I wish to thank you for your support for this event.. reards Scott
  19. I am pleased to advise that after an exstensive restoration program by Sandora Aviation at Caboolture QLD SNJ-4, VH-NAG has been completed and all the small "Bugs" have been attended too and she now flies on and will be flying on a regular basis. The Harvard will be making her public debut at the David Hack Classic Meet - "Gathering of the Harvards & Wirraways" Regards Scott
  20. Thanks very much indeed Matt and Philthy The SNJ is indeed a nice Aircraft. I found out that the red highlight around the Star and Bars on the naval aircraft was used on the aircraft for a short period of only a few weeks and was replaced with the standard star and bars during the year 1942 regards Scott
  21. A couple of more happy snaps Images of one of the newest SNJ Harvards after extensive restoration It was a fantastic experience. The camera ship was another SNJ Harvard.:thumb_up::thumb_up: Regards Scott
