  3. G'day Flying Dog The "Red Rockette" is one lovely aircraft. Had the privilege of Mr Charney joining us for the Toowoomba 2009 fly-in and had the opportunity to spend some time with both the aircracft and owner. Caught up with him again at the Gatton Fly-in a couple of weeks later. Lovely aeroplane and nice gent to boot. and nice to see the aircraft still in the East side of the country. The Classic Staggerwing is among(Many) of my favourite aircraft. Regards Scott I love vintage and classic aircraft

  7. G'day Spin And many thanks The aircraft is a local(Toowoomba)area based aircraft. It is a scratch built aircraft, and no plans. It is a scale build not a full size replica. The owner has done a magnificent job on the aircraft. the engine is the same as what can be found in the Nanchang CJ-6A. The image was taken over the Gatton area (SE QLD) a couple of years ago now. My, hasn't time gone.

  16. Hey Guys was at Dalby today (22/10/09) doing some work out there and took some time out and had a bit of a sticky beak around the aircraft parking ramp. 17. Hey Ballpoint this wouldn't be you arriving? Thanks for coming along and supporting the boys.
  18. A couple of shots from the fly-in thatI was able to get
  19. Hey Tomo you had more guarding the Drifter than there were guarding the Defence Assets(Tongue in cheek). Shame I missed your departure but left early as things weren't happening all that fast. It was resonably good weekend but it was a real shame about the dust on Saturday which put a lot of pilots off from coming to the event. Today (Sunday 4th) the weather was a lot kinder and few flew in and the crowd that gathered was a lot better and the fly's out numbered the crowd 100 to 1, they were shocking. The Museum boys get my tick for the organisation. One of the most laid back oakey events I have been to. Regards Scott
  20. Thanks Sean for that And thanks Geoff that would be great and very appreciated. I will send more info on it for you as I get myself organised.
  21. G'day All The annual David Hack Clasic Vehicle and Aircraft meet is on next year being held at the Toowoomba airfield, May 2nd, and have started to get the organising well underway assisting the Rotary Club North Toowoomba in coordinating the fly-in. I have themed the fly-in "Classic Flight Training Experiance" incorporating my pet event "Gathering of the Harvards and Wirraways" with invites and event awareness letters being sent out. the 09 event had the theme the Vietnam Memorial Fly-in incorporating the Gathering of the Trojans and this event was one of the biggest we had staged to date with not only aircraft but we had over 500 classic and exotic vehicles and ex-military vehicles on display as well.
