Hey! Just another forum. Nothing is 'gospel, nor 'truth. Opinions are matters for judgement. Each engine has its adherents or even 'fanboys. Never going to resolve questions of faith. I flew for 550 hrs behind a VW conversion, fancy that.

Dick Sweetapple wooden propeller for Revmaster or AeroPower.
Methusala posted a classified in Engines and Props
This propeller was originally built for a Skyfox. It is in excellent condition and comes with a 250mm aluminium spinner with backing plate. Dimensions are 60" x 30" pitch. It was flown on my VP-2 and attained 3,600 rpm for initial climb and 3,200 rpm in cruise. It is set up for AeroPower or Revmaster hub patterns. -
Neither of these are available to transient aircraft. There is also a strip mat Lanyon, 10km to the s/w of Tuggeranong town center but I don't like the chances of getting permission for this one either

Probably too cold in Holland for an open cockpit.

Too much nimbyism for that to happen.

Was in Tumut this weekend. Lying forlornly in the field 300m north of 35's threshold was a Foxbat. It had declared an oil pressure related engine failure. Rotax 9 series engine I would suppose. So, they don't all run like the veritable Swiss watch. I'm certainly not attempting to bad mouth the pilot who suffered a little physical shaking but otherwise unharmed. Any engine can fail. Don

I was thinking of the Fouga Magister jet but it has an upright V tail.

Bunbury accident 1 March 2024

The Kitfox 1 we owned was equipped with flaperons. I quickly learned never to activate the 'flap' feature on this plane. Roll control suffered to a frightening extent and it was never necessary to modify the final approach path anyway. It virtually landed itself in normal into wind conditions. -

For 20 years I powered an Icom A20 in a couple of simple aircraft using exactly the setup as described by Glen. Absolutely safe, just mind the polarity. Don -

For many years I've thought that flying x country exercises, say Bankstown to Bathurst, is unnecessarily risky. I recall a particular case where a well own pilot nearly perished after ditching in Warragamba dam from the Oaks. -

Anybody who has the impression they are invulnerable should take a seconds reflection. At the least this person has imposed on genuine people an unwanted insurance cost. -

I travel 200k to Tumut to fly the clubJab. I could take a more direct route over the mtns on a very 3rd rate goat track. Why not? I Don't want to die. Flying over unlandable terrain is Russian roulette, a game only played by lunatics. The pilot should be charged with attempted manslauter. IMHO -

Why did the (in)competent pilot pull the panic string ( and ruin a perfect plane)? -

Early in my time with the Volksplane I landed at Wagga for fuel. It was about 34deg with small thermals popping off the strip. I ve4ry nearly groundlooped with one wing lifting as the bitumen grabbed one tyre. Since then i carried an aversion to bitumen and landed on the grass. -

Could this be a result of brakes locked on touchdown? -
The great Aussie knockers are in full cry. How many are potential buyers, who knows?

Crosswind - plant the into wind wheel and keep it planted till the wing is done flying then plant the tail. Keep on the rudders.
