    Oh, you guys!

Evan,Awesome write up mate, would have been fantastic in the Winjeel and what a bonus getting to fly the thing also.

Thanks Alf. Glad you liked the post!

How cool is that?! And Evan, your avatar is far and away, the best!David

Thanks David. It's that dangerous moment when boredom and Photoshop meet!

  2. This Saturday, my friend and I flew down to Lethbridge to visit his friend who owns a Winjeel. We were under the impression that he was doing some work on it - so we were happy enough to go down to talk to him and see the thing up close.

He really surprised us when he offered to jump in for a flight!!! We were even more impressed when we did some impromptu formation flying with the local joy flight provider.

Oops! Sounds like first-hand experience, CFI?

You guys! You fly a Sierra & think you know what a bubble canopy is. 085_blah_blah.gif.5dd1f55e9e017c1ed039995789e61c55.gif085_blah_blah.gif.3d1174a819f59a095b31801fde5cee65.gif085_blah_blah.gif.5dd1f55e9e017c1ed039995789e61c55.gifDo a Google image search for Evektor Sportstar - now THAT is a bubble canopy!na_na.gif.fad5d8f0b336d92dbd4b3819d01d62e5.gif

I learned to fly in a Tecnam Golf ( the Sierra's slower brother), owned a Sportstar for a couple of years, then got the Dova Skylark - love low wings!

Yes, yes. My Dad is flying one of those at the moment. He likes the little sun shades that you can pull across.

  4. Yesterday and today I worked at getting endorsed in the Ballarat Aero Club's Tecnam P2002 Sierra.

I was ready for it to be different to the Jabiru. I wasn't quite prepared to how different it would be from the Tecnam P92E!

Now that I've worked it out a little (basically I was trying to do far too much finessing on landing), I've found it to be a wonderful and fast aircraft to fly.

...And the bubble canopy makes me feel like a fighter pilot!!!! 080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif
