Sure did! It was great. Although, we were doing about 120 kt .... if I was paying top dollar for a low level heli tour, I would want to see it a bit slower than 22o km/h! At 500 feet the scenery would wizz past before you could look at it!

Nice1 Tomo!

Awesome! Love the music, too!

It seems mine came last week, but I only found it by accident. It turns out that my wife accidentally put it in the insulated shopping bag with the shopping, then proceeded to unload the items and put the bag away - with my mag still inside!

Parafield Airport is the smaller GA airfield close to Adelaide. It's on the right side of town to head up to Balaklava.
Is there a local aerodrome closer though?

Congratulations!
Be sure to keep us updated on the next chapter in your training!

I've had the Galaxy S II for a little over a week now. Upgraded from a Samsung Omnia II - at the time it was the best implementation of WinMo 6.1, but at that stage I didn't know that Android was just around the corner - and so good! It has served me well, but is just so frustrating and limited sometimes!
The difference is like night and day:
- Capacitive touch is wonderful!
- The gps unit is much better.
- The data radios seem to be much more reliable.
- The dual-core processor has not missed a beat, despite hard-core 3d apps.
- The Apps - Android Market!!!
- The screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I've found a couple of aviation related apps.... What are the good ones I should be looking out for?
- Capacitive touch is wonderful!

It's a great positive story for Rec. Aviation!

Yes!!!! That would be great! Now, does anyone here know someone in the ABC?This story just has to be made into a televison documentary. Does anyone have any contacts with the ABC TV documentary section? This would make a great episode of something like Australian Story.OME -
I guess it's already in the takeoff attitude, so that's one less thing the pilot has to do!

You're right David! I should have also mentioned that it is only for normal approaches. Anything other than that requires a slightly different concept. However, while you are learning the conditions should be as normal as possible...Lining things up, as has been described is a good way to start, but what you are doing is relying on a no cross-wind situation while you are slowly embedding the "sight picture" in your mind. When you start doing cross-wind approaches, your approach line will not match the direction the aircraft is pointing, but it will be the line in which the aircraft is approaching the runway. It is the same with engine revs. You start out by setting specific revs for climb and descent, but after a while you get a feel for the aircraft and know the feel and sound. It'll all come with hours under the belt.

Heh, I think so! :-)

However, maybe not if you find yourself flying a 747 or something! :-)Put the line between your legs. ;-) That works when you change aircraft types too, rather than using rivet lines. -
Cool! You'll still talk to us when you're a helicopter captain, yeah?haha, no, I was zooming around YMMB training area in a Hughes/Schweizer 300 looking something like this:Best of luck for your training!

Hey Glint,
While learning to control the aircraft, my instructor used to tell me to "Make the centre line run between your legs..."
Obviously, this would make the aircraft a bit to the right - but as was mentioned earlier, you will only be a foot or so out.
Keep at it! You're not alone! I'm sure many people (including me) have grappled with this issue at some stage!

I'd give it a go!You have got to be kidding me! Looked interesting until I saw the picture with the added 3rd and 4th seat! I doubt you could find anyone in their right mind to be a passenger in those seats basically hanging in mid air! -
You're picking inconsistencies and plot holes in a Bond movie???Apart from the sound being out of sync, I enjoyed that. Never saw the film. Did you notice that the 4 'copters were flown from the left hand seat. Kinda unusual isn't it? Even distant shots seem to show only one occupant.- 4

Thanks for reminding me, Owi! I have the same problem with my Altronics headset (purchased second hand - but in excellent condition) and the Microair M760.Hi all,I'm having a strange problem that involves my David Clark X11 headset and I'm hoping that someone here may be able to help.Lately, using my headset, when I press the transmit button everybody on the frequency hears this high-pitched squealing noise. This is obviously untenable and my instructor has to do the radio work for me.
We've tried all the different switch settings, the same happens with or without the batteries. It was intermittent the week before but yesterday I could not get it to work at all.
I'm not sure if I can just send it in since I bought it second hand from someone and I don't have the original receipt. It is out of warranty - assuming its a standard 1 year.
Thanks in anticipation.
It's fine for intercom stuff, but the minute I press the transmit button it screams! Tried every combination of volume settings, etc.
Haven't had a chance to try it in another aircraft yet.

Would love to! Now all I need is an excuse to go to Perth! Hmmmm.....Well if you're ever over this way, give me a yell! I'll take you up for sure!
Wow.R-22 is $465 per hour and R-44 is $715 per hour....... All up, not a lot of change out of $70,000 -
Congratulations Win!

Awesome stuff!! Looks great... I'd love to try a heli ride one day...
