  1. Is "call me a hypocrite" anything like "call me a cab?"
  2. I try to control my destructive emotions Turbo but it doesn't always work. I could rant a rave far more than I do but to what purpose. Yes I could possibly refute (or support) many of the claims made here but I simply cannot devote the time to find the proof to verify my points. I think we will agree that there's far to many unsubstantiated claims made on this forum and I have no desire to add to the list. Nick
  3. It would have been interesting to see what the SQ members would have done come the next election. It might have been an interesting battle, 3 candidates for 2 positions. Now we'll never know. Nick
  4. Yep. I'm sanding the plane for a respray so it doesn't take much for me to find an excuse to stop. Each post equals one coffee. Man I need to go to the bathroom.
  5. He's not the cherub is he? If he is then I can understand the photo being removed
  6. You're not the statue of the little cherub boy peeing by any chance? Come on, give us all a hint please. Animal, vegetable or mineral?
  7. HITC, Al next time you're at the Well stop by for a coffee at Cafe APA. I'd like to discuss our differences of opinion on recent events if you've got time and I promise that if I say "one lump or two" I won't be referring to the milk. DWF, I agree with your comments regarding the impost on one man band FTFs. Fortunately I already have a SMS in place but this is only due to the fact that my very part time fellow instructor is knowledgable on the subject (and can touch type). Nick
  8. Alfa Romeo, your midnight post reminded me of how dark the days were when we were on the board together. What an absolute bloody nightmare. With enough new faces on the board come September hopefully those days are behind us. After reading many of his posts here and speaking to him on the phone, I'd like to encourage everyone to consider voting for Mick Monke. He has shown a skill set that is so badly needed on the board along with the commitment required to be an effective rep. Nick
  9. I used to fly aerobatically for a living and I always thought it was disappointing from a safety aspect that all pilots weren't required to do at least some training in this area. Also an hour or two under the hood would hopefully discourage some of the more adventurous of our members from getting the rush of blood and pressing on into the murk. I believe that at least one current board member would like to see approval for optional BIF training for those that desired it. Nick
  10. Your suggestions don't personally effect me too much, but I'd like to know whether GA instructors have a recurring spin training requirement. Nick
  11. Well I hope we can all agree that its better to have the question asked and thoroughly answered than rumour and innuendo doing the rounds. Thanks SAJab for helping to clear the air by asking in the first place and Airsick for providing a comprehensive response. Nick
  12. After reading your informative posts airsick, its almost enough to make a one-eyed Queenslander think about moving south of the border to vote. Although I couldn't stomach having to cheer for the blues at the next state of origin. Go the maroons!! Nick
  13. Alfa Romeo you're not quite right regarding the CRC. There were two board members who put their hands up to chair the group.
  14. Hi Ian. Its nice to see you posting but I think we will have to disagree in the ends justifying the means. Nick
  15. Senior in years, not time on the board and the departure may have only been from the exec.
  16. I'd really like to think that progress on the new SMS (or whatever it is that Myles will be doing) will progress a lot quicker than the Ops Manual revision that Mr Tizzard was initially employed to produce (four or more years in the making). I also hope we are not seeing a pattern here as far as career progression is concerned.
  17. So do we now need a new treasurer (again) because of this appointment? That'll make two in the space of a week. All I hope is that we don't recycle an old one.
  18. Bugger me Ed, hidden agendas? I respect much of what youve done in the past but you've overstepped the boundaries by a long shot this time around. Its no surprise that they're "retracting support". As I mentioned in my email to the board regarding this latest self inflicted catastrophe to befall our organisation... "I am so very, very thankful that my term expired and I am in no way connected with this latest appointment as you all are (either through action or inaction) and I will therefore not have to face the consequences as you all will."
  19. well Slarti, I'll give you a tip that has been passed down in the family for generations and usually holds true... "push the stick forward and the houses get bigger" "pull the stick back and the houses get smaller" if you get that part right the rest should come naturally.
  20. I wonder how much its going to cost to send the proxy forms out to each member due to them being inadvertently left out of the magazine? I'd also like to know if any other text will be attached by the secretary. How the hell did we get to this point?!
  21. Gotta have some aeronautical experience or will possibly be led up the garden path by those that do in my opinion.
  22. i don't have time right now but I'd suggest you download it from the abc. You may have to wait a couple of hours until its been broadcast across the whole country.
  23. Just heard it ten minutes ago. Some informative pre recorded interviews from members but only quotes from Mr Runciman.
  24. Run Forest Run. Well actually you'd better not. I can entirely empathise with you Mr Tatlock but RAAus needs a core of at least three good board members.
