Could have been worse eg male pilot, festival in progress and a ferris wheel! -

It's interesting:- 1. Pilot = Jasmin Kirsch 2. Who let the spectators on the road and what words did they utter when they realised what could happen? -

Woman pilot. Might have even gone from flying a J170 to a C160 -
Thanks - looking forward to reading it!

I don't think I will be embarking on a career of building planes - just one will do fine! -
Maybe a new jabiru testing

I just wonder what percentage of the audience at Ms Rodwell's seminar were psychiatrists and other mental health workers trying to get the inside story for some of their clientele? -
Its a good story and I like it!!!

Just Who is certifying these airplanes?
planet47 replied to old man emu's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Twenty years I think will see me dead. Type? Something that flies faster and has a better range than the slowsilver, can put a passenger in or a couple of bags, no sailcloth, with a pusher motor and definitely a fuel guage. I don't want unnecessary instruments, the slowsilver is limited to some basic instruments and I am happy with that. However, I like the view out of the slowsilver's pod and because I am vertically challenged, I feel that it will be necessary for it not to be built for individuals who are 6ft tall and 6" wide. Different ones appeal to me along this line such as the titan tornado and thundergull. The only problem I envisage with that look is the low tail for landings and takeoffs. There are many aspects to this that I have to learn and there is a lot of decisions that will get made or are being made or perhaps have been made (?). I like the slowsilver but....... -

Thanks metalman2 for that. It will be a scratch build and I know someone quite knowledgeable and helpful on the subject so for that I am grateful and as long as he keeps the technical jargon simple I will be even more grateful - should be ready in about 10 years time I think (only joking I hope). -
Jack Flyer did well. Does he sing in his plane too when he is pushing 55 knots? Just curious! Is there a waiting time for the next instalment?

Man this is all very daunting for me who is considering building from scratch! -
It's great isn't it! But bloody rabbits and their holes.

As the tag name says, this is how my flying goes. round and round in circles until I hit something solid An interesting concept - with or without the stick

Go Jack Flyer!!!
-
Is this likely to deter Jack Flyer?
-
Poor Jack with all his injuries (I suffered multiple lacerations (33 stiches) broken, wrist, collar bone,3 fractured fingures, a brocken ankle and multiple bruising). All he had was a joint and a half a bottle of rum for his troubles. Got to say my quicksilver doesn't have a fuel guage. Have to rely on me knowing how many litres of fuel I have and how much time in the sky it will buy me. More.....more.....more......!!

Charlie arrived this arvo with his Quicksilver, sure is a contraption with wires everywhere.looks a bit flimsy if you ask me. Yes they are. Jack Flyer was pretty proud of himself and rightly so. Ready for Chapter 4 whenever you are ready to post it.

Lovely stuff - want the next instalment.

Wow - I am green with envy. By the way I like your list especially about going to a town where aircraft park in the main street. -
J160 Engine stopped in circuit

I think it may pay to change the prop to the climbing prop at the moment too. Climb rate this morning was only around 100ft a minute because it was sooo hot. Long time to get to 500ft let alone thinking about 1000ft. -
Just moved, new hobby, places to start in sydney?
planet47 replied to a topic in Just Landed - Welcome
I think there are also some microlight (powered hang gliders) at Somersby and Warnervale on the Central coast. Give the Central Coast Aero Club at Warnervale a try:- ".....Our Ultralight training organisation is Valley Ultralights. The CFI, Paul Crowfoot before moving to Ultralights had a successful career as a commercial pilot and is tremendously experienced. He has trained a large number of pilots at Warnervale including quite a number of regular GA pilots who have cross trained to obtain their RA-AUS Pilot's Certificate". Obviously the possibilities of similar incidents doesn't occur "only in America".
