  1. The Open Flight Solutions ADSB-IN box works with AvPlan EFB. (Actually, AvPlan EFB works with pretty much everything except the Stratus 2S and the GDL39). Be careful with the ones which only work in the USA. You need a dual band ADSB-in box in Australia (needs to support 1090ES). You wont get ADSB weather in Australia either. We sell the Dual XGPS190 and bundle in 1 years AvPlan EFB. It connects via Bluetooth so is really easy to set up and use. See it at Dual XGPS 190 GPS/ADSB/AHRS - AvPlan EFB - Electronic Flight Bag All the ones with an AHRS also drives the AvPlan EFB synthetic vision as well, giving you a backup panel on your iPad.
  2. The digital data is all the airport information, airspace etc which you load into your SkyView. It's a replacement for either Jeppesen or pocketfms. The data for your SkyView is a separate service. You don't need to be using AvPlan EFB on your iPad to use the data in your SkyView.
  3. From AvPlan EFB you can upload flight plans, get GPS position from your Dynon SkyView and we also use the AHRS to drive the AvPlan EFB Synthetic Vision as well. We also do maps, geo-referenced DAPs and digital data for your SkyView too.
  4. Our chart will print and be great for a wall. One of our customers had a 5x5 metre copy printed and epoxyed it into the floor of their hangar. Looks awesome! I'll have something in a day or so for you all
  5. No idea sorry. I'll chat to the printer.
  6. Hi Folks I can arrange to get the AvPlan EFB MegaWAC (Australia wide) printed if you want one. For good resolution its going to be around 2m x 2m in size. If you're interested, email [email protected] and I will put you in touch with the printer. Thanks Bevan..
  7. I've done quite a bit of flying in SR22's (T, TN's and NA). The Gen3's with G1000 are awesome travelling machines (which is what most of my flying is - business travel). I've had a TN up at 18,000ft and did Moorabbin to Bankstown in less than 2 hours. They don't handle as well as a Bonanza (where I have most of my hours) but as an A->B aircraft the comfort, visibility, avionics are difficult to beat. Oh and the aircon in summer.. uuuuughghghghhg All comes at a cost though! A new one with the Aussie dollar where it is will push $1M for all the bells and whistles.
  8. The wifi only iPads do not have a GPS onboard. You will need an external GPS for use in your aircraft. Be aware that devices can get an approximate location from wifi networks, so it can appear to work.. on the ground.. You do not need a SIM card for the GPS to work, it just takes a little longer to find itself.
  9. DAFIF was last released in 2007. So any changes since then will not be reflected in Xavion.
  10. Hi Folks Just wondering why the quadrantal calls aren't good enough? (north, south, south east etc). Seems a lot simpler, and less prone to error. Lets you know where the traffic is, and leads your eyes outside, rather than try and work it all out on an iPad. As I see it the only time its required if you are trying to separate yourself with IFR traffic, who tend to talk about radials and distances.
  11. We've (AvPlan EFB) done a bunch of testing and all looks OK. We always recommend caution (i.e., don't update before a major trip, or both devices at once (if you carry a backup) Thanks Bevan..
  12. We're working on replacing the need for PocketFMS, should be ready in a few months. We'll be including that in the $99 per year for the maps and airport diagrams. Bevan..

  14. Here is what the geo-referenced DAP's (including airport diagrams) look like in the Skyview
  15. OzRunways is $19 per update (and there are two updates a year) and only include VFR maps. AvPlan includes VFR and IFR maps, plus geo-referenced airport diagrams and instrument approach procedures for 1 year, for $99.
  16. There is (at least ) one organisation working on one, they will be exhibiting for the first time at AusFly - Its not my train set so I can't say much more.
  17. An easier solution for ADSB traffic is to build a rasberry pi based device which uses one of these DVB tuners to receive ADSB traffic. It'll cost you about $100 in parts, but will be usable on both Android and iOS. Both AvPlan EFB and OzR support these devices and multiple users in the same aircraft can connect to the one adsb-pi receiver. You are only seeing other OzR users who have traffic enabled, not every aircraft. We developed a similar system as well early this year. Its great, but the limitations are the 3G network - when it doesn't work you see nothing. The benefit with ADSB is you will see all ADSB equipped aircraft. If you want ADSB out for your aircraft, come to AusFly and see something really new, affordable and easy to fit to any aircraft.
  18. I should also mention we only send aircraft that are airborne. If you are on the ground you will be sending a position but we will not report it to other devices.
  19. Sounds very unlikely. We don't share callsigns with other AvPlan users let alone other apps.
  20. We only send back aircraft within 200nm of you. If you want ADSB traffic, an external receiver would be required. We support a couple of commercial ones (iLevil2 SW and Sagetech Clarity) and an ADSB receiver based on a raspberry-pi which if you are somewhat technical you can build yourself
  21. Yes, AvPlan EFB will display live traffic. Turn on AvPlan Live (settings, User Settings). Then turn on traffic on the enroute (map) page (Map Settings, ADSB Traffic).
  22. Robbo, which countries? Just tap on the map to download NZ or US maps (settings, data downloads)
  23. Robbo, give us a call (AvPlan EFB) on 03 8370 3024 and we'll sort it all out for you
  24. AvPlan EFB has the MegaVFR (seamless VFR charting Australia wide), NZ VNC and geo-referenced airport diagrams and instrument approach procedures for the Dynon Skyview and AFS EFIS units. See http://www.avplan-efb.com/avplan/electronic-charts-efis/ for more details.
