  1. This was my first Oshkosh, I have to say that it exceeded all my expectations, extremely well managed & outstanding flying displays, everyone was just so friendly, I can honestly understand how folks come here every year.011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif

My personal favorites were the Blue Angels, the Apollo astronauts, the light sport a/c & the home builds.

  2. Been planning this trip for a few years now, can't believe it's finally happening, going to be a boys trip with 3 mates, we have booked 2 RV's & camping on site.

Can't believe my luck, I'm a bit of a Blue Angels tragic, wanting to see them for years & I have every Apollo book written, so when I found out that the Blues are there as well as all the surviving Apollo astronauts I couldn't believe my luck. 016_ecstatic.gif.156a811a440b493b0c2bea54e43be5cc.gif

  3. Ya gotta remember Journo's & I use that term loosely report mostly to the general public who really have no idea about aviation in general hence they dramatize it to make it more 'news-worthy'

How true, so how about politics, finance & world events etc that I don't have an intricate understanding or knowledge of, it's a race to the bottom, their research is done by google.

  4. Was an awesome trip.

Picking up your own a/c, honestly it doesn't get any better than that, of all the hours in my log book, (16,000+) the most cherished & enjoyable were the 13 hours flying from Tyabb to Caboolture last September with my wife in our new baby, enjoy your new toy with many safe hours & smooooth landing.080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

  5. Just a heads up, as the rules change & ASIC holders are required to have a face to face interview for a renewal WEF August security id have put in place various people at aero clubs, flying schools, airports etc that can verify or certify your ID, so the process can still be all done online with in 7-10 days.

  6. Just wandering what is the best, cheapest (in that order of priority) way to go about this.

The military, excellent training, the latest & best training aircraft, training is very cheap i.e. FREE & in actual fact they pay you.

On the downside being in the military is not for everybody, training is tax payer funded therefore failure rates very high, you must progress at the rate that is expected otherwise you get scrubbed, also its a 12 year commitment once you graduate, he'll be early 30's & looking very good for the airlines if thats what he wants.080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

  7. CASA have set a precedent by allowing RAAus students to operate in CTA i.e. Class D, therefore they will have to grant us CTA approval with the relevant training for those that don't or haven't held a RPL, PPL etc.

I for one hold a current class one medical & ATPL, minor problem it's from an overseas authority, all my Australian licenses apart from RAAus expired in 1999, so I'm in the same boat, waiting.................hopefully it will happen this year.080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif
