I'm confused.
Reading what is here: GAAP is unique to Oz. With GAAP, there are problems because of local "proceedures" which are not standard to all places and this causes confusion.
Making it "Class D" makes it conform to international standards and so brings it into line and therefore reduces the confusion. :clown:
Yeah, so an airport has a situation where you have to do certain different to the "usual" to get into that airspace. So really it isn't Class D.
Isn't changing the designation from GAAP to Class D only iceing rather than actually doing anything?
The unique requirements of certain places will still exist if they change it from GAAP to Class D either way. So from that perspective it is accademic WHAT the airspace is called.
AND:
If they make it "Class D" and these places retain their "Special proceedures" that airspace isn't really doesn't conform to international "standards" then. :Flush:
It seems way too confusing to me. Maybe someone could please explain where I am getting confused and educate me.
(But I am kind of glad/happy I am only RAA. Though I did say it would be lovely to be able to fly in Controlled airspace, as I would love to do a landing at Kingsford Smith.)
Anyway, I'd better stop there.
Bye for now.

The thing is that the "world" has no feedback.
Engine failure in a twin is difficult to detect which engine, as you get no yaw.
Turbulance is also difficult. Though you see it, you don't realise what it feels like. This can be dangerous as you "think" it is easy, but when you are in turbulance you can get yourself into trouble quickly. OR You can panic at nothing as you have never felt the bumps and so think that small bumps are a worry.
However: All in all it is fun to fly it.
-
Well maybe it can't.
Does ULTRANAV say it can?
*IF* it says it can, it may be via the NMEA interfae and not the USB one.
Then you will need an NMEA interface unit.

Only with a quick look, it is a good effort.

Weekend'
WRT entering Coffs, give them a ring now and talk to them. They don't bite. Explain you are new to it and want to check what the right thing to do is.

Me, me, me, me.
I'm coming with a few mates.

Well LAST year, *I* was the only attendee.
Now, I am blamed for the bad weather.
Oh well.
:encore:
-
Well folks,
The weather was bad.
Saturday was windy - getting there. Rain, yuck.
I drove. Better to be down here wishing you were up there, than up there wishing you were down here.
Although Saturday night was windy as and Sunday morning a bit "iffy" it was ok.
About 3 or 4 planes flew in.
The afternoon's trip home was also a bit windy.
But it was fun.

I like the electronic engine sound option.
I would make it like a hourse walking along.
"Clip clop. Clip clop."
WRT looking before stepping off the curb:
Yes it is a good habbit to develop.
However there are factors which overlye the workings.
You are taught to look when you are a kid and it works. Probably because you are constantly told to do so.
As you get older, you learn to associate the noise of an oncoming car with the need to look.
So over time you listen as well. Then as you become more "proficient" at doing it, you don't step off if you hear an engine. If you do, you turn, look and determin your actions.
As "we" have grown up in a society where the cars are noisy, not hearing anything negates us looking as we hear nothing.
Try going to a foriegn country where they drive on the wrong side of the road.
You look before stepping off the curb, but you are looking the WRONG WAY - so really it doesn't account for much.
It is not an easy thing to resolove and can only be really addressed when there are more "silent cars" on the roads.

In the YGLB thread Evan's head was mentioned.
So what is the "goss" for there?
I am itching to go the great eastern fly in.
I hope that if Evan's head is developed, that this can still happen. Well the fly in, not my itching.

OK, I'll bite:
What is the asking for a lot?

Brett,
In the quick post I posted, I explained.
However, no worries.
The thing is the sheet is supposed to be a "single use" one.
Sure, you keep a blank one and use coppies of it for all your flights.
As I made a dummy flight and entered mag' var' in there you have to correct the error.
DELETE ALL WAYPOINTS ON THE MAIN ENTRY SHEET.
I'm understanding that it is still showing 12 (or what ever in the mag var column)
Go to the cell above that cell and copy it to the cell with the number.
Repeat for any other cells which show a mag' var figure.
Also do this for the wind column.
SAVE THE "EMPTY" sheet as your default copy.
As you are in Perth, on the setup page, for the Mag var, enter it as -3 (or what ever.) and it should be ok.
Let me know.
-
Well I can't say for sure.
All I know is when I saw him, he had a BIG piccie and he said it was his.
Though his is VH registered.

Folks,
Go to the download section.
Version 14 is up.
I think it works for downloadability this time.
-
Slarti,
Yes, the idea is simple. Try resetting it.
Someone I know and have flown with for a while has one and they are disgusting to reset.
Pressing the two buttons at the same time is near impossible and you spend more time trying than actually doing.
Not my idea of "user friendly".
-
I've had a few flies in one.
SCHMICK planes.
My twin brother has one.
AND! (No lies) if you are talking about the mag I think you are, that is HIS plane!
He has a bigger copy of the piccie.
-
From what I've seen of them, they are a real pain in the a$$ to use/set.
-
Folks,
Anyone got some good clipart which I could use to make "title screens" for slide shows on the 'puta?

Theme, trip/travel/train/holiday
Thanks.

Just a quic thing:
Mapsource is pretty good. If you want detail, buy the Australia TOPO 2 map.
Hells bells is it good.
not only does it have roads/rail/etc etc etc, but it is a topographical map too!
If you JUST bought the map, go back to the shop and explain to them the problem/error.
If they are half descent people they should understand and use the money towards a mapsource compatible map.

I'm jealous.
