  1. I would have thought that Black Country Pics would be possible; but pilot and Photosmith mate Rob Greaves and his gear is located in Cornwall's Lovely clean Air !
  2. One from last night - the Pelican Nebula in Cygnus. I had planned for about 3hrs of exposure on this one, but the USB comms crashed whilst I was snoozing on the sofa at 2am. So I only got about an hour and 20mins. The image is a bit noisy as a result. The best of a bad job!
  3. Grumman Avenger, they'd just spent 18 years restoring it, not too much damage though.
  4. I've heard him say that initially, he frames the bit of sky he's after thru a small scope, . . . but the main pics are multiple exposures over an hour or so, on the motorized gimbal mount ( pictured ) I almost regret swapping my six inch (150mm ) reflector telescope for a Gibson ES 335 Leccy geetar plus fifty bucks way back in 1976. . . Phil..
  5. On the subject of expensive hobbies again,. . . . I forgot to mention that Rob the Photographer id also an amateur radio op ( G4MOH ) another pricey hobby. Apparently his main camera has packed up now, poor chap. Ready for another night of wires, USB conflicts, and frustration. . . More problems again tonight after last night. Looks like the camera is on the blink. Hopefully still under warranty.
  6. He certainly Does mate . . .. . Fancy having TWO expensive hobbies. . . . Owning and Flying Microlights is bad enough ( ! )
  7. Here's one from Easter Sunday by Rob Greaves -( Cornwall UK ) IC1396 region of sky last night, 51mm aperture telescope, 1hr 30mins of 5min exposures.
  8. It might be an astro night on the new pier... some high cloud, so see how it goes - or doesn't! It might be an astro night on the new pier... some high cloud, so see how it goes - or doesn't!
  9. Windoze Ten, and yes I have and I do. Thank you for the suggestion though, I was a little Peed off when I posted that (!) Phil.
  10. Hi all, tech snippet from Rob Greaves astronomy ; New telescope pier aligning time. Get it pointed right tonight, marker pen it and weld the top plate on tomorrow. ( Looks as though a new bit of kit is coming )
  11. Thanks Scott. . . I sorted it with my vast array of counter measure routines; just 'Borrowed' a ruck of them back from friend (!) Looking forward to more bush flying with Christine and yourself soon. . . Phil.
  12. David. . .are you talking about a Beechcraft Premier jet with all the back seats stripped out old man ? I'm not an officionado of anything really; but I thought King airs were made in Piston and turbo prop versions. . . Excuse me if I've missed an 'In-Joke'. . .Phil.
  13. Was chatting on a forum in the UK and I stupidly clicked on a link, mainly because it was posted by a member whom I've known for years and trust. It has locked my computer, so I've been using all my AV stuff but cant find this particular bugger. I've managed to restore five sites, this one being in my fave list !. . .but I still have a ways to go. I'm borrowing back several mem sticks full of security / AV stuff from a mate.. . . problem is that most of it is a couple of years old. . . we'll have to see. Darn tedious though.
  14. Flaming Star nebula and surrounds from last night with 250mm focal length scope. Focus not nailed, sadly, and sky transparency not great. Still had some weird amp glow on right hand side of image, as dark frames not working properly so had to crop in a bit. 9th March 2021 ( Rob Greaves - Cornwall UK )
  15. Greetings from a rather snowy Otherton Airfield.
  16. I believe that they investigate if fatalities are involved Jerry. ( Though I COULD be wrong here. . . .
  17. We actually had 99 aircraft visitors at that Fly-In. . . . Plus loads of road visitors. . . I Look forward to a similar event when things calm down. . . . ..
