  1. Hi Folks, For redundancy & peace of mind, i'm looking at installing an electric fuel pump to my Rotax 912 ULS engine (non turbo) in addition to the one & only mechanical fuel pump currently fitted (Rotax P/N 893110). This is for a Auto Gyro. I've been looking at FEDTRO 12VDC Fuel Pumps P/N 40105 and was wondering whether if anyone has good or bad experience with these pumps or are you using another brand? Also I would like to know whether if these pumps must be fitted either horizontally/vertically or doesn't matter? Thanks in advance Andrew

  3. oh THANKYOU Onetrack - your info is magic! I will check both suppliers. I'm replacing my x4 landing gear bolts at the moment they're M8 x 70 (Grade 8.8) I know Chinese products have come along way in quality but I can't trust their fasteners just yet. Thanks mate!
  4. Hi Folks, Is there anyone who can tell me where they source their bolts & nuts from? I'm looking for a reputable supplier either in Perth (or online) and preferably one who does not import from China. Looking for Metric Grade 8.8 bolts and nylock nuts (grade 8 also) for use on my airframe for regular maintenance. Thanks in advance Andrew
  5. Gday Russ, Yeah got the contact details for Lynton thanks, just spoke with them and they seem very helpful thanks :) Andy
  6. Andrew - many thanks! Lynton Station seems perfect, i'll give them a call in the morning also. I'm thinking of passing GEL either Sat 3rd or 10th October. yes all those stops are pretty close to one another but I was thinking of doing some extra local flying if weather/time allows as all those places are quite picturesque :) Cheers, Andrew
  7. Hi Folks, I'm planning a little flying adventure from Perth to Exmouth (via coastal) in the coming weeks in a Gyro and looking to land at Dongara, Geraldton and Kalbarri airfields for refuel. Does anyone fly from these strips and/or know of anyone who could possibly supply me with 20-30 litres of ULP? I would be happy to pay additionally for the assistance. I've called the local council (aerodrome operators) & local petrol stations and found them to be unwilling to assist :( Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks Andrew
  8. Hi Maj, I am using Aeroshell Sport Plus 4 oil. Cheers Andrew
  9. Down under Thanks for your post, in my case - the oil tank sits slightly below the engine and can be ruled out.
  10. Hi K-Man, thanks for your post - can you tell me who gave you this advice? Was it Rotax/LAME?
  11. K-man After burping, the oil level was at the bottom of the flat part of stick i.e minimum level. At the last oil change 25 hours ago I filled it up to the midway point between min & max.
  12. Hi Nuzza & everyone, I have the exact problem, my 912ULS engine is somehow using oil. After 25 hours since last oil change, I have lost 200ml of oil. My engine is 350 hours young. I can't see any leaks nor oil burn stains on prop or tail plane. Therefore I can't see evidence of it burning or leaking oil, and YES I do gurgle the oil tank as per publication instructions. I have never lost any oil until now, is it hiding somewhere? Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?
  13. Hi Folks, I'm thinking about flying into Denmark and Kalgoorlie on a weekend for an overnight stay in my Gyro. Is there anyone who could help me out with a hangar & 40 litres of ULP fuel? Thanks Andrew
  14. does anyone have a contact for the Aero Club at Denmark? I was planning to fly in on a weekend in my Gyro, could someone be able to assist me with obtaining fuel and a hangar spot for one night? thanks in advance Andrew
  15. Poteroo, Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep this in mind as a backup option - shame about the whole situation there. Albany would be a pretty place to visit. cheers, Andrew
  16. Don, Big thanks, this may work - i'll make some phone calls there during the week. Cheers, Andrew
  17. Hi Poteroo, I do have an ASIC. Sorry to hear the news and that's a real shame, seems like a disappointing situation for the aviation community in Albany. Thanks for letting me know, I don't think i'll bother going there now. cheers
  18. Hi Folks, looking for some hangar space to house two Auto Gyro's for an overnight stay in Albany on a weekend in mid/late April 2015. Can be at either the Airport or any ALA, Can anyone assist please? Thanks Andrew
  19. 12 months ago after taking delivery of my Gyro in Newcastle NSW, I flew it back home to Bunbury WA. 4000 kms over 5 days - mother nature was very kind to me passing 3 different weather systems across the continent :) i've made a short YouTube clip of the adventure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXoKKAaNlOs
