  1. Awesome Report mate. By the looks of things it has come from the right hand piston from the other bank of Pistons. Lucky to not have completly destroyed the engine. I have seen some engines let go of a piston and it has completly tore the crack case, head and other piston out of their correct spot. The peice of metal that has been peeled away over the hole apears to be an engine plate that has been atached to the casing. Have a look at the picture on the page in Wikipedia that I fond on the Engine in the Cessna 152. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycoming_O-235

  16. I am starting to get really peeved off with Plane Plotter. I have tried everything and just can't get any planes to show up. I have tried to look on the Planeplotter Website and also the Yahoo group and just can't seem to get anywhere. I have decided to attach my settings and see if anyone can help me. I have a satalite map of Sydney, a SE Aust Map and also a Melbourne Map. Can anyone help me??? Is there any other settings that I haven't attached that might assist you? 18. How long was the Journey and how long did it take?
  19. Hey all. I was at work today and had the chance to watch a few of the heavies fly over. 1 did attract my attention more that usual. It was a Qantas Boeing 767-300. It was around 2.36pm (time on my phone) give or take a couple of minutes, it was tracking for a Southerly approch onto Rwy 34. It was flying over Altona. The planes fly over at about 300-500 meters. It appeared that there was something whitish in colour and was covering half of the tail fin on the right hand side (and no it wasn't the roo, it covered that too). Didn't catch the rego and didn't get a photo. My work is a great place to watch the early morning heavy arrivals. Unfortuantly no photographic equipment is allowed on site. Any info on this flight and what the white thing was would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a very rough example from a shot of a 767 that I too ages ago. 20. You can't miss the silver engine cowlings of the 300. I will miss seeing that at Melbourne International Airport on a Saturday morning.
  21. There are more parts of the 300's flying. The 300's and 400's are pretty much the same apart from the cockpit and some other changes. Most parts off the 300 would fit on the 400. Correct me if I am wrong.
  22. Like a swarm of bees around a honey pot. Great shot Chainy. I wish I could get mine like that.
  23. Great shot Chainy. I can't wait for it to start flying into Melbourne International Airport.
