  1. Know about the breathing probs when the back is out Robbo..have that at the moment but not as bad as you by the sound..I'd get into a chiro A.S.A.P if you can. Good luck with it!
  2. Thanks Robbo I might give them a ring. :)
  3. UA 839 (tomorrow's UA 840) heading for Syd-Mel is on its way across the ocean as per normal . Todays UA 840 is stuck in Sydney. Guess they would fly both flights tomorrow if plane fixed and ready to go...the one from Mel as per usual UA 840 and the one from Sydney. Wonder what they will call the Syd-Lax flight UA 841 mayhap? :?:
  4. http://www.ua2go.com/flifo/FlightSummar ... &Check.y=6 She got to Sydney OK but no further..wonder what the problem was/is? :?:
  5. Great..I will give it a try Robbo... 8) ..thanks...any suggestions on how to book other than a normal travel agency? Do UA have a desk at the airport? (I might be out there next week). I might see if UA have an agency here in Melbourne as the internet site doesnt appear all that user friendly for bookings from Aussie...if the prices were comparable to JQ or DJ I'd give it a go..you'd reckon they would be competitive to fill up their seats a bit wouldnt you on an otherwise light sector. Got my passport at the ready! Just need the lotto win now!
  6. Wonder if they would let you fly the sector Mel -Syd ? Guess I wouldnt mind the security/passport/customs just to fly the plane and the experience.Wonder if they would charge a competeitive price? Have e mailed them to see their response. :)
  7. Hi Ian..yes I encountered a problem when looking up the flight..not sure they will allow one to fly Mel-Syd as a domestic sector..have to be booked on as an international passenger I'm thinking from what the site kept throwing back at me. It kept trying to book me through to Auckland (though the flight doesn't go there I dont think) and kept charging me $2945..the full fare to the USA. Yes the thought about its international status occurred to me when I was thinking about it when I went for my walk tonight. Its really an international flight and they may not allow a domestic passenger en route. Sad to see all those empty seats though..when there is a chap here who wouldn't mind one !LOL  Thanks Ian Tim :)
  8. Hey Robbo..thats a great idea. =D> Have always wanted to fly on it..wonder if their tickets are cheap just for that leg if they are trying to fill seats..might get online and check their site..Thanks mate..yes fly to SYD on UA 840, spend an arvo in Syd and get a cheap fare home on another airline..or stay overnight and fly it as UA 839 back to Mel in morning..think thats its number coming reverse way. Great idea Robbo..Ta :D
  9. Hi Robbo..thanks for that info..yes it is a big one..can understand why you waited..wouldnt want that big one trundling over the top of you.one flattened tug and one flattened Robbo! Should hear the sound over here...very distinctive compared to the 737's and Airbus 320's etc that flyover..a deep guttural roar and the distinctive vapour trails of course! Next time could your ask the captain if he has any room for a passenger keen to get to the USA but hasn't got the fare yet? Would it help if you told him I was a fan of UA 840? [-o<
  10. Have been adviseed it was Wunala Dreaming..the thought had crossed my mind but didnt know what route it was flying/ operating on.. Melair had it departing at SCH 11.20 and EST as 11.28..usually it takes about 26 minutes from EST time to here but must have been delayed on tarmac for a few minutes as only appeared here at 12.05..about 37 minutes later..still that solves the ID ..nice to see Wunala flying over here. I'm assuming EST is pushback time and not actual lift off time? :?:
  11. Hi all! One of my favourite flights . ... as its one of the few big birds to flyover here on Mel-Syd routes and I just love the livery shining on a blue sky day. As far as I am aware, United has two liveries?... The Grey on top and blue undernetah and a blue and white livery? Todays flight (if I spotted correctly here in Moyhu, King Valley) had a red body. Is this a new livery or was it using another plane for some reason? Any Melb or Syd spotters notice? It left Mel early according to Melair.com at 11.40 (Sch 11.55) and flew over Wangaratta here at 12.05 so the times matched spot on for me and it was a big bird. Thanks in anticipation of any info on this one Tim :D
  12. Hi Zenonie..good to have you onboard. =D>
  13. Thanks Robbo..good to see its up and running..might get in there one day. :)
  14. Yes..a lot more of us would have access that way..seems to cover a broad range of interesting topics / areas.. :)
  15. Anyone know anything more about this? :?: http://www.flightpathtv.com/
  16. Those on Tiger's e mail list will just have received their 99 cent fare sale announcement..see http://www.tigerairways.com Can see some cheap fares but not sure where the 99 centers are hiding! :?: Arrrr! Can see them now ..from Singapore to various destinations e.g Phuket Nonetheless,..there are some cheap $29.95 and $39.95 fares around the Aussie ports of call. :D
  17. Does anyone have any more info on this..I am assuming it is real and did happen..? Always feel for pilots in those crosswind situations. They do a great job..guess sometimes there will be incidents. [ame=http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ddb_1204404185]http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ddb_1204404185[/ame]
  18. Thanks Glenn..yes got as good look at the Hudson..impresssive ..as were the others too..talking to a work colleaugue today who has lived in Temora..she was full of praise for what has been done up there. Guessing some more of the Temora planes will be at Albury on April 10th for their Air Show..will wait for more details. :)
  19. Is anybody aware of any Canberra bombers or Sabre jets serviceable in Australia that might pop up at any airshows in the nerar future? Pt Cook was great..would love to have seen those two in addition though...maybe another air show or exhibition might have them? Tim :)
  20. Great show today..anyone else make it there? So many highlights..great aerobatics and flyovers and planes on display..a lot of people put in a big effort for us, the general public..a big vote of thanks to all involved in the organising and putting on such a great show...so many highlights but must admit the Vampire and the DC3 and the Hercules were great..but so were all the of them. Tim :D
  21. Thanks guys.. really interesing clips aren't they..seems huge whern you see it all. Wonder if there wil be any access to the viewing deck fr visitors or will it continue to be blocked off..they seem to emphasise views for passengers once through cutoms/security as an important feature. :)
  22. What sort should we get Robbo? Citation X sounds great to me...do you reckon we should house it in the hayshed here in Moyhu or down the Prom or out at Essendon? :P  p.s..maybe forget the first two sites..would hate to watch an air crash investigation show finding a tiger snake coiled up in the throttle gear as the cause of a prang!
  23. The scariest bit for me apart from the actual late -late take off(scary enough though!!LOL) but the lack of lift after take off..kept wanting to jump into the video clip and help push it up!..a bit like the sensation when ur in a car passenger seat and you keep applying the phantom brake on the passenger floor when the driver is being a little careless  ..glad the plane made it!
  24. Yep..good one Glenn..I could happily watch this one take off ,head off and land..might miss the reverse thrust roar though..but I'd be catching lots of those from other craft too..I'm assuming by the time the rotodyne had slowed down to landing position there would not have been much noise compared to normal large jets of today? :) ..I'm assuming..but not sure..video didn't really answer that one for me.
  25. Just received e mail that Flight Experience has opened its doors in Melbourne. Tim :) Details http://www.flightexperience.com.au
