    Me-262

HSD jets Me-262. Considering it's EDF it flies very nicely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gNLS2Fg31w
  2. Walking around the Southampton International Boat Show after filming some large RC powerboats in action and I stumbled across the trade stand for Swellpro. A manufacturer of multirotor aircraft/drone for the marine industry. Didn't know waterproof drones existed! They can take off and land on water and survive full immersion. Makes them suitable for many more applications that your typical drone. Dan of Swellpro UK gave me a quick intro.
  3. Each built from scratch and flown in close formation without any fear. These are skilled builders and pilots putting on a great show for the public.
  4. Totally different kettle of fish and I think us RC 'pilots' know that...
  5. Robbie Skipton doesn't just fly these monster radio controlled aircraft, he also designs and builds them from scratch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0igCSG_jcY
  6. I've seen similar RC aircraft suffer worse abuse. Pylon racers, dynamic soarers, and some other turbine powered aircraft. The skill is in the design and construction of these things for me.
  7. Not often you see something fresh and innovative. This is the NEW Jeemo. A performance glider with a 45N jet turbine engine INSIDE the fuselage. No wonder it's so quick and agile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDBexxuQsyc
  8. So clever. Combines the ease of flying a drone with the efficiency of flight. Vertical take off and landing with one button used to transition to regular flight and back to hover again. No moving control surfaces. Roll and yaw achieved through differential thrust. Integrated FPV with real time view streamed to the controller. Strangest but coolest looking thing I have flown in a while !
  9. Skilful demonstration of aerial firefighting at the new Popham Model Show. In that crosswind it was quite a challenge !
  10. Filmed this superb scale helicopter at the recent, new, Popham Model Show. Great flying by the owner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyGshm_u26k
  11. Piloted by Keith Mitchell, this model took 5 years of combined design and construction. This model aircraft was initially designed by Tony Nijhuis and part-built - was extensively rebuilt by Keith's modelling mate, Peter Johnson. Its initial flights were taken under the Large Model Association scheme (approved by the CAA) for model aircraft over 80KG. It underwent 12 test flights for combined flight time of more than 2 hours to get it's LMA\CAA certificate to fly at public shows. During this flight at Elvington Keith was battling a strong gusty cross wind. The cross wind landing was extremely skilful and amazing to watch. Judging from his reaction I don't think Keith enjoyed it so much but the watching crowd were certainly very appreciative that he put on a good show. Specifications of this fantastic model. Wingspan: 21 Feet Length: 19 Feet Weight: 220 Lbs Engines: 4 x ZDZ 90cc petrol Props: 4 x 28 x 10 Biela Carbon Radio: Futaba 14 Channel Servos: 22 (13 channels for ailerons, elevator, rudder, flaps, throttle x 4, landing gear and lights) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Voqw7cTuOBU
  12. Day 2 of water trials of this amazing project with commentary from Alex Jones of The Little Jet Company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbDP2_uhZ4E
  13. Sharing vide of the first water trials of this amazing 1:4 scale twin turbine powered Convair Sea Dart created by The Little Jet Company. The Convair F2Y Sea Dart was an American seaplane fighter aircraft that rode on twin hydro-skis during takeoff and landing. It flew only as a prototype, and never entered mass production. It is the only seaplane to have exceeded the speed of sound. It was created in the 1950s, to overcome the problems with supersonic planes taking off and landing on aircraft carriers. The program was canceled after a series of unsatisfactory results and a tragic accident on 4 November 1954, in which test pilot Charles E. Richbourg was killed when the Sea Dart he was piloting disintegrated in midair. The four surviving planes were retired in 1957, but some were kept in reserve until 1962. In this first video you will see the Sea Dart on the water and accelerate to a fast taxi for the first time. Video of the second test is coming very soon! SPECIFICATION: Length (including pitot tube): 5 meters Power: Twin JetCat P300s Guidance: Jeti Radio Electronics: MKS servos on Flight controls. Savox waterproof servos on Water Rudder. Weight: 100 kgs with fuel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm2FjRvnSVs
  14. Truly spectacular scratch built aeromodelling. In a world of ready to fly RC aircraft these are rare and beautiful to watch in action. These aircraft are built from Falcon Aviation kits and Tony Nijhuis plans, have a wingspan of 17 feet and are 1/6th scale. Each model weights about 87 pounds without fuel and are powered by four Zenoah 38s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDjWx2gtrRQ
  15. A compressed action compilation of modern and classic RC Airliners from a meeting I attended in Germany. Enjoy !
  16. I've filmed a few RC F-104s but this one has the best scheme of the lot. Looks amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFTqeAk8Ky4
  17. Bit fiddly but it works ! Looking forward to the first formation flight with my fellow RC A-10 pilots...
  18. Dietmar and Chris are known for their amazing creativity when it comes to designing and building super light RC aeroplanes to be flown at shows in Germany...but this latest project is just brilliant. They give a flight demo outside and then they give me some insight into the inspiration, power system, vectored thrust, flight stabilisation and what the scale model will look like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEjnYi2WpBM
  19. Ghost Squadron led by John Greenfield demonstrate glider tow and the retractable power pod on a large scale glider on the Showline at the BMFA Power Nationals https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHkkxcSpxxc
  20. Always some degree of stress flying most RCs but this Night Vapor just let's you unwind after a hard day in the office. Perfect for zero to light winds and so controllable can operate in a very small space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrEC1gVqvko
  21. Awesome Su-27. Created from the CARF Models kit with two micro turbine engines for power. Wingspan is 68" (2200 mm) and length 126" (3200 mm). Weight is 50 - 53 lb (23 - 24 kg). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZWElPBUkTY
  22. In storage for 15 -20 years so a few things needed replacing and updating but it's ready to go for it's re-maiden...as is the Concorde in the background. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3KvGV0GwTM
  23. Second flight. It likes a bit of low inverted this thing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LswySpaARYI
  24. Super little "almost ready to fly" warbird in this size just like it's predecessors in this 750mm series from HobbyKing. Assembly takes minutes and flies like a much larger model due to the clever ORX gyro stabiliser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrnf4TlRNy0
  25. One of the most ingenious things I have ever filmed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0f2W8L6xa2E
