  1. Was sent this to try out. Decent size and comes with 2.0MP cam that transmits to your smart phone with a downloadable App , captured to a micro SD card in the drone. 2 flight speed modes. Comes with 2 batteries each of which give a good 10 minutes flying time. I thought it was good if you want to try out FPV and aerial video on the cheap for the first time (i.e. only $55 !).
  2. Always great to see scale models of full size aircraft I've not seen before. This scratch built Agentine FMA IA 58 Pucará being a twin was especially interesting. Considering the weather it flew really well.
  3. 1:3 scale Piper J-3 Cub flown at the Large Model Association Show at RAF Cosford. Scratch built and without the context of the owner in the background you would think it was the real full size aircraft. Amazing.
  4. This giant VC10 has a wingspan of 4.9 metres and length of 5.75 metres. Total weight is 63 kgs. The model is powered by 4 Wren Super Sport micro gas turbine engines each of which has 18 lbs if thrust. Designed and built by Terry Mason. Flown by Dave Johnson, LMA Chairman.
  5. Superb scratch built MiG-29 powered by two micro gas turbine jet engines each with 170 newtons of thrust. It looks especially menacing against the grey skies at RAF Cosford.
  6. Dave Johnson, Chairman of the Large Model Association, flies this stunning scale Bede 8, together with John Greenfield (Ghost Squadron) flying the highly detailed 66% scale Beercraft 'Honey Bee'.
  7. John Greenfield (Ghost Squadron) built this half scale Klemm KL 25 from plans of the actual full size aircraft. He also used the same materials in its construction and chose the Valach 420cc 5 cylinder radial engine (VM R5-420). An engine more powerful than the engines used in the full size aircraft! This model has a wingspan of 6.5 metres and length of 3.8 metres. The weight is 57 KG. Filmed at the Large Model Association (LMA) Cosford Show 2017.
  8. Seems a trend has started at RC shows this year with turbine jets and warbirds flying in the same slot. I think the pilots like the challenge of trying to fly them in formation despite the massive difference in power and flying style. Filmed at the Large Model Association Cosford Show.
  9. Steve Carr flying his Pilot-RC 55% Yak-54. Steve's got a real hang of this model now. Not a lot he can't do with it. Filmed in UltraHD / 4K !
  10. Some stunningly scale warbirds from the BMFA Power Nationals 2017. An annual competition event hosted by the British Model Flying Association that brings the best together of all RC aero-modelling disciplines.
  11. ...we had control line. Some still race with control line models today. Quite entertaining to watch. You get the impression that with one false move you could risk decapitation.
  12. Steve Haughty closes out the 2017 RC Show Season with a characteristically low, fast, high G flight at Southern Model Show in Headcorn, Kent, UK.
  13. Greg Hayfield flying his monster 85% Pitts Python at Southern Model Show in its new scheme which is based on a scheme on a full size Pitts flown by pilot Jacob Holländer.
  14. Crazy fast 200mph+ pulse jet control line action from the BMFA Power Nationals. I can't comprehend how you control the pitch on these models while they are travelling at these speeds while keeping balance. Compelling to watch !
  15. Luke Metcalf, assisted by his Father Paul, flying this in true scale style at the BMFA Power Nationals 2017. Lightning by name and he flies it like Lightning. I had trouble keeping up with my camcorder. Full after burners and tight turns. TERRIFIC ! Some details of this amazing model. Built by Trond Hammerstad from Norway from the Airworld Modellbau kit. 9 litres of fuel onboard in two 4.5 litre tanks. Scale: 1/5 Span: 176 cm Length: 284 cm Engine: B300F turbine (320N thrust)
  16. The 'Ghost Squadron' give a superb demonstration of both unpowered and powered gliders at the BMFA Power Nationals 2017. The Minimoa is a classic design with its gull wings. It gets pulled up by a tug fitted with a 100cc engine. The racing glider is powered by an electric motor with a single blade propellor that is automatically deployed from within the fuselage into a vertical position before it starts up.
  17. 1/6 scale MiG-15 flown at BMFA Buckminster. Powered by a JetCat P-100. So realistic.
  18. Sorry, I don't but they guys on the Jet Modellers Association facebook group would as I suspect it was one of their events. Best to contact them.
  19. Steve Johnson, regular UK RC Show pilot, flies his new A-10 at BMFA National Visitor Centre in Buckminster. This Skymaster A-10 is 1:6.25 scale with length 2552 mm (101.3”) and wingspan 2784mm (109.6”). Dry weight is 20kg to 22kg (45-48Lbs) and the model needs 13-15 servos. I took a bit of creative licence and added some real GAU-8 gatling gun sound as its unique to the A-10. Steve told me he intends to get a backing sound track together with A-10 live firing to compliment his aerobatic display at shows next year. Looking forward to it !
  20. My buddy Simon Potter flying his superb Tomahawk Designs L-39 Albatros XXL at a Jet Modellers Association meeting at the BMFA National Visitor Centre in Buckminster, Lincolnshire. This model is decorated in the scheme of the Baltic Bees Jet Team. Simon is obviously a fan and who can blame him. If you watch videos of them performing you can see what he is trying to emulate in terms of flying style.
  21. The Fun Fighters are always a highlight of any Show they take part in. I've seen them at several shows this year and with Daren Graham and Mark Aubrey leading them they can't but fail to have fun and put on an entertaining flying slot for the public. These are small, fast and easy to build WW2 kits available from www.funfighters.co.uk. Here's a vid of these awesome models in action.
  22. Once these things get into their groove they scorch around the track...this was quite a close run race...
  23. Scale perfection arrives in the form of this scratch built Westland Wyvern which was displayed by Pete Fullard at the BMFA Power Nationals.
  24. Normally lucky to see two of these amazing machines in the air but the annual BMFA Power Nationals is a bit special. Here we got six and all flew to perfection by their owners.
