This propeller has been in service for many years on a gearless O-320 160hp with very harsh conditions for the blades. Operation on a geared motor has much milder conditions both in terms of rpm and torque ripple.

The problem has been solved for both the wood version and the carbon fiber version. The wooden one is still cheaper. But there is a nuance. There are varieties of these motors, which differ in their characteristics. And it is no longer possible to customize a wooden propeller for a specific modification of your motor. In the second case, the optimal adjustment is always carried out.

There are goods that are not used, they are only sold and bought.

Rotax also has 110 hp engines and the same weight. But all attempts to use them on airplanes were unsuccessful. The Rotax-618 engine was never brought to an acceptable level of reliability and was discontinued. I will be very glad if my information is outdated and Italian manufacturers managed to solve this problem.
