  1. Oh hang on, it's googling now: (source sounds familiar)
  2. well, according to the innerwebz, it STILL hasn't happened 🤣
  3. I still haven't done my navs so I'm interested for the nav training. I'm waiting until second hand X boxes that run this are cheap and I'll just use a joypad. Guy at work has it on PC and he is just using a keyboard! Needless to say he's not having fun. I told him he should just get a PS controller so that at least the 3 axis is proportional. Leave everything else on the keyboard. Oh, since he knows I fly out of boonah, he's tried to fly a 747 out of there. I believe he wasn't successful...
  4. That was the other thing I meant to ask. This 25khz spacing thing. Did I read somewhere that the spacing is changing in Australia? What should I be looking for to make sure it is appropriate for us? Also, that link doesn't work. I assume you mean segelflug.de?
  5. Apologies if I got the wrong measurement. I'm inching ever so slowly towards getting a radio for my kit build. I was interested in the Trig 91 at one stage but found it has a head and base unit type construction where by you have a loom with a kajillion wires in it connection the two. I'm pretty sure I found some other brands that were just one unit because i remember making, and still have a cardboard mock-up to make sure it would fit behind the instrument panel What brands/models fit what I'm after and are there any that are not great quality?
  6. Hehe. Yeah it was a bit of luck that he was first. Blackburn was supposed to be the better.
  7. CORR! I've always wanted to build a Bleriot or Bleriot-like replica. Their three cylinder radial would be just the thing ❤️
  8. You are right, but I doubt anyone is going to build any new IC designs now, since the serious money is from car manufacturers...
  9. Thank you! Did hear from someone close to the source? What a pity. It looked quite damaged in the news footage.
  10. I'm being wry. Google have done a deal with News Corp, hence I now call them Goog Corp. There was never anything to pay. You look something up, Google shows you the link to say a news corp story. You go to their site, and then you pay however it is News corp wanted you to pay. I think Google just figured it was easier to pay some protection money to us Aussie hicks than to try and argue the point. In any case, since it doesn't look like any news corp affiliates reported the crash, it doesn't get a showing on Google. I predict for one web crawl cycle, which is normally a 30 day cycle. So it should appear on Google from anywhere between now and about 28 days from now. We may have the recording of the news story, so I'll have a look tonight to see if I can see a rego.
  11. Well it looks like it still hasn't happened according to Goog Corp
  12. Yeah I couldn't recall it either. Just assumed. A coincidence I guess. So we probably walked past each other at some stage 😄
  13. Don't know if the new amalgamation of Google/News Corp is reporting it yet (they weren't yesterday) but we happened to see on channel 7 news that a Tiger moth came down near amberley. Looked quite damaged, apparently engine failure and the moth hit a post landing in a paddock. Pilot and passenger unharmed. We happened to be in boonah yesterday. We had hired a Tecnam to go for a pootle. Very surprised to see a whole bunch of aircraft there, maybe 30 or 40. Including maybe five Tiger moths! So I'm guessing this one was part of the fly in. Was painted in traditional airforce yellow.
  14. Not per say. Thankyou. That is all.
  15. I also got her a flight in a hot air balloon for a previous birthday, it doesn't mean she wanted to become a hot air balloon pilot...
  16. Managed to maybe get in contact with them on FB. This century is useless...
  17. Anyone here in this club? Using their contact form doesn't seem to work and the mobile number doesn't seem to work either. I'm trying to get a gift card for my partner. This is the 21 st century for crying out loud!
  18. Sorry for not reading the whole thread through in case someone already mentioned it. Single bladed props have been used for decades in model aircraft. Particularly control line speed models, which are high powered, revving at say 30,000 rpm. And also some rubber powered free flight models, where the revs are quite low. So at least at small scale, quite versatile. Check out this short clip, the sound of that engine when it comes on song is unreal! http://airpigz.squarespace.com/blog/2010/3/16/36000-rpm-1-blade-prop-and-208mph-control-line-model-airplan.html
  19. No worries, got what I needed from Clear Prop 🙂
  20. Is there a lot of centripetal force in an earth lead?
  21. I don't even ring my mum if I can avoid it 🤣
  22. Geez woulda been nice if the dealer outlined all that...
