Maj, I'm in early stages of planning a June/July flight from Gold Coast to Innisfail and return. For Townsville looks like best OCTA passage is Starke field to Bluewater field, just to the west of Frederick Peak. Is this what you describe as 'the dreaded "Pinnicals pass"'. And why is it "dreaded"? Thanks, Steve.

Country Airstrip Guide (Qld) from has an entry for this field. Owner/Operator is Logan Pastoral and Grazing Co (07) 32005541. I did a practice forced landing into 05 on Saturday as part of my BFR, but did not land. Appeared to be well maintained.
