  1. This appears to be going around and around and getting NO where.

Rather than have 10,000 members ring their board (ex) board members wouldn't it be easier to have those board members who have resigned (if they have as nothing is on the webb site that I can see) post what they know here then a discussion can be had on those facts instead of trying to get to the bottom of the problem when we don't know what the problem in fact is.

  2. Sport Pilot magazine March edition in the President`s Report, Mr Steve Runciman said

quote "There are a number of other matters which will affect the organisation, including the introduction of the Recreational Pilots Licence by CASA and a legal matter currently being delt with by our insurers and solicitors".

Does anyone know what this legal matter is all about?

This may have something to do with the "resignations" which have yet to be confirmed as best as I can make out.

    Cheers

  3. Hi All Well the saga is almost complete

I had the aircraft inspection yesterday and all went extremely well so the Sav is signed off and ready to go and today we flew out to Lynfield in Bills aircraft and I did my flight test with Kevin Walters and passed all ok so I am a happy camper. The Sav paperwork and my pilot application will go into the mail tomorrow and on saturday I am away to the south seas for some rest and relaxation for a week. The paperwork should be back the week after I get back from the cruise and all I need to do now is balance the carbys and do the 3 minute full power engine run then she is ready to go. Exciting times now...I can't wait to start flying off the 25 hours even if it is only 25 NM radius from caboolture

Great stuff Mark. I was hoping all would fall in place for you so that you could go on that cruise and relax and be very excited and ready for the test flying on your return.

    Enjoy the cruise.

    Cheers

  4. That`s my old Chook, I built. Flew damn well too. I could stall it, hold the stick all the way back and by working the rudder so it wouldn`t drop a wing too far, I could have brought it all the way to the ground, fairly gently!Frank.

Ps, I built it in the middle of the harvesting season, completely from scratch, making most of the parts by hand and I was so keen to get it in the air that I`d work on it every spare moment I had and finished it in three months...If anyone wants to know where it is now, just ask and I`ll tell you! 099_off_topic.gif.20188a5321221476a2fad1197804b380.gif

For us newbies Frank, is the "chook" a "Chinook" (Canadian design)?? You said you built her from scratch?? Interesting.

  5. I'm confused here Mike. I see by your earlier post your 9a is based at Bundaberg, but your location is Kununurra. My previous statement was for NT and the top of WA. We want to do it this year, but if all the planets do not align for this year, then it will be next year. And that distance from Brissy, was by car. But you probably know where Watts is :))

G'day Bob, Yes we are currently living (camped) in Kununurra. I came over here 4 years ago for a 15 month contract at Argyle Diamonds as the ARO for the Aerodrome.

This contract is now out till 30 Jun 13. VH-LAT is currently in our hangar at Bundy due no hangarage here in KNX. With the new instrument fit out (Dynon Skyview etc) we dont want to leave the aircraft out in the high humidity over the wet season up here. We get back to Bundy now and then for a fly though. I will try and catch up next time we are over. Keep in touch re trip north.

    Cheers

  6. G'day Mark. Looks like you have achieved what you want in repositioning the flap lever. The factory may even take you up on the modification drawings!

Glad to hear that the flying is going well. You mention "Bill" as the isntructor, is he from a Caboolture Flying School?

You also mentioned doing the test out west so I gather Bill does not have Examiner approvals.

Good luck with the training / test. and looking forward to hearing of the first flight of your aircraft.

I hope you have got some hangarage sorted.

    Cheers

  7. Flying dog you will enjoy. A great show and lets hope the weather is kind.

I have not been for a number of years but have "displayed" the dakota (ZK-DAK) there in the late 90's when I was a pilot share holder.

    Cheers

    Mark

Sounds like you will be ready when the Sav is Mark. Good luck with the training.
