Was wondering why he hadnt popped up for some time. Think he said he had given flying away?Dazza , Your back -
Saw Martin enquiring about entry to NZ for experimental aircraft??I heard it was the new owner -
I think Keith Page said somewhere on this site that they weren't looking at weight shift as there are already two bodies looking after this type. RAAus & HGFA.Thanks to all who answered my question regarding ELAAA, had a look at their website, will be interesting to see how this will go forward but by the looks of their web site, weight shift is not on their radar so not of any use to me, cheers -
I wouldn't expect a DAME to do a referral for nothing. I am sure if you had to go back to your GP to have a referral to a specialist he/she would charge another consultation fee. My wife works in General practice as a Practice Nurse and tells me that the Doctors hate doing medicals due the time it takes of both them and the Nurses beforehand.Dont forget the CASA demanded specialist referrals. And the revisitations to update simple detaills. I went back to my DAME who charged me $130 for a specialist referral. Apparently that requires a visit and an hour... can't do it via phone call or email? The system is broken.- 1

Agree Nev..And my last one was renewed on line. NO Face to Face. Are we the only country that has this ASIC system for Aviation and MSIC for maritime? Why aren't passport details enough? Especially if you have held one in ONE name for many years. Nev -
Face to Face..What will they think of next? Pilots should be exempt due the requirements/checks needed to get issued a Licence/Certificate. ASICS for airport workers Yes.Just a heads up, as the rules change & ASIC holders are required to have a face to face interview for a renewal WEF August security id have put in place various people at aero clubs, flying schools, airports etc that can verify or certify your ID, so the process can still be all done online with in 7-10 days.- 1

Remember also RAMPC is annually after age 65 whereas Class 2 is in most cases two yearly.I feel the medical requirement at the moment are fine.RPC = Drivers lic equivalentRPL 1 pax = Rampc [remembering access to CTA which is usually over built up areas and mixing with RPT]
RPL more than 1 pax = class 2
PPL = class 2
Do I have these right?
it seems to be more the process ,ie burecratic red tape and BS that is the problem.
Perhaps PPL and RPL with 2+ pax could be RAMPC, but some say this is harder than class 2?

There have certainly been a number of RAAus accidents in the past few years where the PIC was getting on in years. Problem is we NEVER hear of the cause so will never know.Does anybody know how many pilot incapacitation accident have occurred in RAA over the last say 10 years?Would be a good measure to see if the current drivers lic equivalent is working. ie nobody on the ground has been killed by RAA pilot incapacitated -
Correct. I would of had to do all those tests from age 60. I Have a CPL and held a class 1 medical until age 60 but not needing the class 1, I have been doing class two for past 3 renewals. NO requirement for ECG or any of the other tests although DAME said he would do an ECG if blood pressure or other symptoms suggested he should. Thanks Yenn, but take another careful look at the charts. Particularly the second one. The tests are for Class 1 and Class 3, not Class 2 as far as I can see.Mike.

Hi Mike, will be good to see what they finally end up with. I am sure they are trying to make it as light on the pocket as possible. Will be Good to have some choice and MAY even have 750kg before RAAus.Hi MikeIt looks like initial rego starts then $220 every two years for CofA (may be certificate of airworthiness and processing of BFR is $220- I guess plus the instructor flight cost. Maybe not much cheaper than RAA in the end?Regards
Mike

Thanks for the update Keith. What A/C Register will the aircraft operating under the ELAAA be using?
-
NZ also. SIDS are mandatory..SIDS in Cessna, I think we are the only country going down this path for corrosion inspections in Cessna 100 and 200 series of aircraft -
Yes...GP medical required for RPL 1 pax.No. You can have the GP medical for thr RPL but if you want to carry more pax or do aerobatics you need a class 2 or class 1 medical.RAAus does NOT require a Dr's visit IF RPC holder holds a drivers licence so upgrading from RPC to RPL does require a Dr's medical every two years up to age 65 then yearly.

Frank, you are probably right but maybe just maybe CASA gave RAAus a list of requirements of things that had to be in the new manual before it was submitted for approval so that it wouldn't be bounced back requesting required changes.Don't just worry about CASA look at the new Tech Manual for instruments for CTA - our wonderful organisation Solely responsible. NOT CASA. I tried to have it changed but without success before submitting to CASA - and got the same comment as above re "mixing with the big boys etc"Just a thought.

But don't you require the heavy road transport medical (aviation) issued by a doctor for the RPL?They do already with the RPL. You only need a class 2 medical to carry more than 1 passenger.Recreational Aviation Medical Practitioner's Certificate (RAMPC)

I believe once a member has hit the button to vote they can't submit again. Can the results from this poll be taken seriously? - what's to stop someone with an agenda from casting multiple votes?.- 2

Simple. Allow the State police to hand over their Report to the ATSB for publication. ATSB seem to publish findings when asked for support by other parties e.g. RAAus, NZCAA and othe external agencies.Legal process; ATSB have the necessary exemptions which the State Police apparently don't have. -
With one serious and two fatal RAAus accidents in the past 10 days or so I doubt there will be much if any change to the existing rules in the short to medium term.

Thread drift....This has nothing to do with Camit closing. Camit has closed and all parts / machinery disposed of..Ok. Got it , so to become the native of a particular country, one needs to kill and murder the inhabitants and plunder the land. And once they have conquered the land by deception or using power against someone who is weak and vulnerable, then they become the original inhabitants .According to your logic - if countries like India & China, which have the largest armies, decide to conquer Australia in a World War 3, then everyone in India / China who moves to Australia will become natives of Australia, and will no more be immigrants! Lucky, the Indians and Chinese do not follow your logic .- 2
