The A36 had to back track almost half the runway, the landing twin should have seen it regardless of the radio.
The A36 pilot should have seen the twin landing in front before powering up regardless of the radio.

My data base is somewhat flawed, not one pic of a proper Thruster !

Hi Memphis
Welcome to the site. Is your aircraft really fuel injected or does it have a pressure carbureter?
-
The problem is most likely that the simple reliable carbureter has been replaced with a back yard fuel injection system.
Sorry if this offends anyone.

Nothing wrong with a used engine with log books ?at the end he's realizing that the only way he can keep flying is with another used engine -
I think Trent came to the correct conclusion, one that Rotax would agree with

No, but big bird's go thru a cherrokee screen which is about 5mmThe good new, DP, is that polycarbonate is getting cheaper. The price halved in the last ten years, presumably because it's now sourced from China. That means is cheaper to replace your screen, which you need to do much more often than with acrylic (Perspex) which is harder, less scratch resistant, but more easily cracked.I'd like to see how thick our screens need to be; has anyone whacked a curved sheet of poly with a defrosted chook travelling at 90knots? -
Annual inspections for the 22 years I have owned it would be under 2k.
It's really just a good check of everything and oil change parts required have been minimal.
I always participat because I have the time and am interested, I can say that not one age related problem has been found.

Reading back thru this thread, the theme All these old corroded poorly maintained 40-50 year GA are an accident waiting to happen
Makes me laugh. Mine is 55yo. Can anyone who thinks this way point me to an accident from the ATSB data base to support your view ?

Cessna 150,172, Piper PA28 etc are good rock solid aircraft safe, proven good value for money.

When all this madness started I made one like Camels for my beech, haven't used it for at least ten years total BS
Since I didn't get it CAR35 engineer approved, would be I breach either way.
-
Still plenty of 172, pa28, r22 and even a few beech23 still flyingO-320s where a lot more common back in the day, they would all be starting to get long in the tooth and expensive now though -
Hi Doug
The 503 sounds healthy enough
The relationship between throttle and choke can be tricky
The choke on a Bing 36 is a valve that allows more fuel to enter provided there is sufficient suction ie throttle closed
Opening throttle on cold engine can cause stoppage
Having the choke on with a hot engine will result in no start

A new Blackshape or a used Cirrus sr20 I'll take the later

Hi Doug
I had a 13hp Honda on an auger, if I didn't pull it hard enough it would snatch the handle for my hand
-
Hi Desk pilot
Did you get the 503 going, is it for the single that's on the trailer?
