G'day all from YLIL

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Time to get rid of that pesky message :)

I've started my flying lessons at YLIL last April, after moving from Holland in 2015. I figured Australia would be a good place to learn to fly and so far it hasn't disappointed one bit. I'm flying from YLIL in their Jabirus. Just had my first solo yesterday, so I figured now's a good moment to post my first message here.

Thanks for the great forum you guys have got going here. Very informative & heaps of good information for a student pilot like myself!

Cheers,

M

Well done M! First solo is something you'll never forget.I did my first solo in the Jabiru (5231) at YLIL, now flying Warriors/Archers from there.

Thanks mate! Mine was in 4929. Will probably never forget that rego haha. I can't wait to start flying the warriors, but I'd like to finish my rpc first. A bit easier on the wallet, those Jabs...

Cheers,

Well done! I soloed in 4929 back in 2013. I still get excited thinking about it, not much in life compares to that first solo feeling!

Thanks! That's awesome mate! Are you still flying at Lilydale?

No, moved to Brisbane in 2015 and finished my rec certificate at Fly Now in Recliffe. Had a great time learning at YLIL with Bob. Come to think of it, I was out by a year with the first solo, it was 2014, not 2013.

I'm flying with Bob as well - he's been great throughout. What a patient man haha. I had to Google Redcliffe, but man, that must make for some nice views when flying there.
