I fly model aircraft, and use Realflight's simulator - guys drive me nuts hovering Yak 54's a few feet above the airstrip, but that's with the higher power to weight ratio of a model. If so, the pilot has done an amazing job of - 1) missing that hotel, and 2) doing a 180o turn to run back along the beach and a ditching that looks survivable...
