Aircraft for 6' 6" pilot

Recommended Posts

Hi Aviators

After a wander around Natfly this GA pilot has discovered there is NO aircraft that is large enough to comfortable fit in

A very sad situation

Has anyone got some ideas?

Any tall pilots out there?

Cheers

Bruce

The Morgan Cheetah and Sierra can be modified during build to fit anyone. Tons of room available.

As usual with aviation there is a trade-off.

Wider and higher means more drag and therefore slower cruise.

I'm 6'1" and have heaps of room. There's still 12 inches in front of my feet before the storage divider. I raised the turtle deck a bit, and scooped the seat to the bottom of the cockpit.

Comfortable as a very comfortable thing, and I've never hit my head.

I once had a guy turn up, who was in love with Ultralight aircraft and wanting to learn to fly in the Drifter.

He was a retired federal policeman, 2 metres tall and 145 kg.

There was just no way I could instruct him in the Drifter.

He went away a very dissapointed man.

Hard to find a small aircraft for a big man !

There I go again BlackRod with my i's and t's!

Said to you "nice aircraft". Second line was for bruceinOz with his 1981.2mm height...Drifters do not have a pilot height limit, just more bug exposure!

Never been to 10000 in a Drifter; only 8500. Very good view, but cold...it was in winter!

You can ALWAYS park a Petrel in a hanger so no excuse BlackRod

The Skylark ( see my avatar ) I fly is really suited to tall people, I am 6' 2" and don't have the seat all the way back, I am currently 115kg and still have plenty of room.

As it happens I would like to sell it ( read the wife would like me to sell it ), PM me if you are interested.
