Keith Page
Hi All The big news from Thangool.. Maj. won the longest distance flown trophy, you guess the celebrations regarding that. On the trip to Thangool the little LightWing just hummed as they always do. Regards Keith Page..
Graham Pukallus
The Callide Dawson Flying Group certainly did themselves proud by the professional manner in which they organised and ran their first Flyin in their new home at Thangool. Counted some 70 plus aircraft, over 50 Caravans and I was told that over 1000 people went through the gates on the Saturday alone. The Mayor of the Banana Shire officially opened the proceedings and reinforced his support for the Callide Dawson Flying Group at Thangool. The photos don't do justice to the event, but it will give you an idea of what massive work and support Liz ( the secretary's secretary) and her army of club members who made this weekend a great success. Thank you.

Guest Maj Millard
Arrived home late today after flying up the coast with 105-114 kt groundspeeds with a 20-30 kt tailwind from the Thangool flyin. Felt a bit sorry for those going South, but then we Northerners had to buck headwinds to get down there last Friday. A very impressive first flyin put on by the Callide Dawson flying club, and very well attended by both aircraft and locals all weekend......some photos... On this forum we have been yapping about the fly-in for ages. I can not remember when I first posted it. We all had a god time catching up and comparing notes. It was just a great honour to hand the longest trip trophy to Maj as he is a great supporter of our events. Regards KP.

Keith Page
is there going to be one this year ?? Yes there is one this year 22-24th July 2016.. I have started a post for it somewhere here -- seeing you have mentioned it I will repost it.. You have to go along. The Thangool races are mixed up in the activities as well so there will be things to do or just have a small beverage and brag planes. Regards, KP.
