Association Memberships

As mentioned in a previous post I am going to implement a type of Membership info on what users may belong to. The result will display a small image in the user info that is beside a post. Like this:

 

 

The main objective of this is for me to ascertain the breakup of the types of users on the site plus to add a better dimension to a user's post. Specifically, I need to know:

 

1. Firstly and most importantly if a user is a member of RAAus at all
    
    
   
2. and then what other types of associations, memberships, types of flying they do in order for me to tailor the site better to its audience.
    
    
   

 

 

This will be achieved by selecting an entry from a drop down box in the user settings and when they register.

 

This is important for the site and I know there will be a whole lot of idiots who will want to play games with this but they will not be tolerated due to the importance of this and they will be found out.

 

So what I need is your input to what the drop down options should be, starting with as an example:

 

RAAus Member

 

RAAus Member and others

 

GFA, Non RAAus Member

 

HGFA, Non RAAus Member

 

GA, Non RAAus Member

 

BMAA

 

EAA

 

Other

 

None

as many of us wear more than one hat so to speak

 

how about allowing users to upload one or more image(s) (aero club and/or flying school logos, etc.) to a gallery (vetted by the moderators)

 

then allowing users to choose up to a given number of images (say 5) that could then either be displayed alternately on a timer (like screensavers) or with a different one (of the selection) displayed each log on or post.

 

 

 

Just a bit of a though bubble really.

 

A bit of a coding challenge I would guess?

But I have a cunning plan.........................I do have a identical twin brother.........who is sound of mind (sort of), has better body parts and has signed the organ donor form...................and has a wallet with stuff in it.

Not such a stupid idea...well sort of.

You can see in the attachment in the opening post that there is room for 1 more icon next to the country flag. I could add an upload capability for a user to add an icon of their club, flying school or other relevant aviation icon. Will take some doing but well woth looking into...thanks

Have you got a tab "biological organism in a Hostile Universe? cause that's me. I hate putting people in"boxes". One's posts stand on their own two feet and are not needed to be filtered through some test of knowledge base or allegiance to some particular section of aviation.
