Not only that,. . .IT COULD encourage Larrikin Lancaster owners to engage in potentially dangerous low flying too. . . :-)

The pouring blood/bombs or poppies is tone deaf at best.

 

Any memorial must also account for the mass death and destruction it also represents. Not a comment on the brave crews but the reality of the missions.

 

Hard to please everyone but this looks like what Boris Johnson's would give to Germany as a gift.

it could n't possibly represent those that perished by bombardment - the majority being civilians - this would then be a macabre memorial

Just to clarify, I myself believe that there is no doubt that the bombing shortened the war and was completely morally justified. (For example, the idea that more allied soldiers and civilians should have died to spare the lives of German civilians is ludicrous.)
