spacesailor Posted July 10, 2023 Share Posted July 10, 2023 I worked at a foundry , making aluminum ingots . All those aircfaft & parts , that we wish for now had Almost no value. No-one wanted that ' junk ' Then , we desperately needed FOOD . Brand new aircraft, never assembled, crate included, fed into furnaces. Also Harley & Indian motorbikes in crates went the same way. As well as hundreds of used odnance came by truck and rail.
