I'm going to ask here because I hope someone can answer. "Real ATC" clip.

What we hear on the radio is two aircraft following each other. What we can see "on the screen" is a conflict from the moment the trailing aircraft turns inside the other. This amazing level of situational awareness is available to any pilot even in the most basic of aircraft for a mere $500 while the adsb rebate is available. SkyEcho2 + tablet or iPad = enhanced traffic awareness.

I don't know for sure. Sometimes when arriving if someone says Have xyz in sight and visual you may be cleared to maintain separation visually and call "approach"  on 123'45 at 15 miles.  Nev

That's what TCAS does and directs appropriate action by both planes I would expect in this case. Tower knew they had departures in the same direction and in close proximity due to the short interval between the  take offs.. Nev
