flying dog
So I am taking it that DOKR is close to the airport? As both were cleared to DOKR so they should have both flown the same path.
facthunter
Positive separation wasn't provided there. Bad procedures.. Nev
Thruster88
What we hear on the radio is two aircraft following each other. What we can see "on the screen" is a conflict from the moment the trailing aircraft turns inside the other. This amazing level of situational awareness is available to any pilot even in the most basic of aircraft for a mere $500 while the adsb rebate is available. SkyEcho2 + tablet or iPad = enhanced traffic awareness. 2
flying dog
So I'm guessing the person in the tower is going to have a lot of questions to answer. Yes?
facthunter
I don't know for sure. Sometimes when arriving if someone says Have xyz in sight and visual you may be cleared to maintain separation visually and call "approach" on 123'45 at 15 miles. flying dog
Yes, but this was DEPARTING and the controller seemed to mess the two planes around with their vectors. (But what do I know?) 😉
danny_galaga
What is RA? I take it that refers to the close call...

facthunter
That's what TCAS does and directs appropriate action by both planes I would expect in this case. Tower knew they had departures in the same direction and in close proximity due to the short interval between the take offs.. Nev
