Someone has been trying to sell a couple of these here for a while. NZ$50 or 60K each, with very much to be done......

Speculation:  - While iconic in appearance - Very expensive to run - relativly big engine/thirsty AvGas - fixed pitch prop,- draggy airframe/slow cruise.

 

One for the wealthy collector?????😈

There was a nice 'Bird Dog' fitted with a turbine at Lakeside Air Park a few years back down in NSW now.  Was a real goer.

The Italians I think it was produced them with a C20 or there a-bouts. SM something? I remember an airshow/flyin at Scone quite a few years ago where Col Pay put one through its paces. It was stressed for aeros and Col turned it inside out followed by taxing in and backing into the park area.

There is a standard Bird dog doing the rounds in Vic/SA on powerline work with a lidar strapped to the side. Looked a nice clean example.
