1. Well spotted Ozzie. Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A few more photos here. The Cri-Cri made for a beautiful contrast parked underneath it.
2. There's a lovely example at Wedderburn.
3. Perfect Spacewalker, except that you posted them in the wrong thread like Maj did. Moved here.
4. Should work Ozzie - provided your images follow this rule :- "The maximum size of your custom image is 120 by 80 pixels or 34.2 KB (whichever is smaller)." Works for me.
5. Under the "My Links" link in the blue bar above, you'll find an option for "Edit Avatar".

Brumby A/C

Yep indeed. The Morgan offerings seem to be much better aircraft. An all-metal Cheetah (mine's half fabric) with a 4 cyl Jab will stack up well against a Brumby and is much cheaper. If you want 100hp, go for the Sierra (135kn cruise) or Cougar (yet to fly). Still awesome value against a Brumby. The Brumbies seem pretty good too, but you should be aware of the options.
7. Search for FLARM, not FLAM. It has popped up in quite a few threads - like this one.
8. All good advice, but George didn't touch the door. "Teething trouble".
9. George proved that when the door did come off his Lightwing in flight. It might not have flown so well if the door had actually taken out the empenage instead of just grazing it, but he got lucky.
10. Thanks for the update Doug. I agree with Maj - he did a great job arriving at the scene of the crash still under control. The temptation to keep lifting the nose must have been overwhelming. When I approached on Sunday, I deliberately came in high until I was sure I would make the strip no matter what, then side-slipped it's little heart out (no flaps). I thought I must have arrived too fast, because it kept floating. After landing I looked back to see that there's quite a downward slope on 35. That'll do it. I hope the plane and the finger are repaired soon. Ross
11. The RAAus register says it's a VP2, so probably VW conversion. The pilot said in that video that it is hand started, so he couldn't restart it. Looked like a VP2 - a very nice one too.
12. No Ian, I've definitely been wrong at least twice. This is my third marriage. Reminds me, if a married man makes a statement in a forest and his wife is not there to hear it, is he still wrong?
13. Video of the accident aftermath here. Lucky man. Sunday was my first time into Wedderburn. It's a lovely strip, but it is completely surrounded by trees. There are no options but to try to get lucky amongst them. Doug said it made maintenance really important.
14. Hi Duncan. Sounds like it will fit RAA, so that's your best bet. Contact the Tech Manager, Steve Bell via [email protected] or call him at the office on +61 2 6280 4700 to sort out the requirements. Straight from the horse's mouth. Cheers, Ross
15. Had a great day at Wedderburn. Lots of great aircraft, plenty of interested (and interesting) people, forum members everywhere, and crap weather. Just got through at Bowral and then into some showers, which hung around all day. Just got out ahead of what loomed as an even larger rain event. Tracked south of Mittagong nearer the escarpment hoping to get around the rain, but ran out of space between the cloud and the ground. Backtracked and went down the escarpment at Wollongong and along the coast until Nowra, then up the Kangaroo Valley and home to much clearer skies. The only real down side - they had a band playing loud country music all day. Aarrghhh. As promised, at least 2 photos have the Cheetah in them. 16. A few pics from Wedderburn today. Cute Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer and Cri Cri Huge but STOL
17. In about 2 weeks. Not sure about a video, I'll have to suggest it. No more pics yet.
18. Just for that, expect 2 photos. I could borrow a Jabiru if that would make it easier :spam:
19. Absolutely right - but this one slides through on sheer funniness. I actually LOL'd.
20. Colin, I can't see what you are doing when you say "I click on the waypoint name mainways …. Then the list button… it brings up I waypoint called YGLD Goulburn." Where is the waypoint name displayed? It sounds like you are importing the waypoints OK (you should import just one of those files - otherwise there will be some overlap), so you should then be able to go File -> Waypoints -> Waypoint List It should then bring up a list of all the waypoints - where you can then select one and click "Map" or "GoTo" or "Edit" or "Delete" or "Save".
21. I thought it was fantastically appropriate that Dick went to work at CASA. If a Tinsmith works with tin, and a Silversmith works with silver, and a Goldsmith works with gold, then what does a Dick Smith work with?
22. I thought I'd better do the neighbourly thing too. Sounds like fun.
23. Colin, in that case there is something else wrong, because mainWays.wpt is definitely right. Allways.wpt I had wrong at one stage because I created that one by massaging a file Maptrax supplied into WPT format. Please confirm that the .wpt files are stored in /OziExplorerCE/Data and that you are loading them from the "File" menu through: File -> Waypoints ->Import Wp's from File then choosing one of the wpt files and hitting OK. What happens next? Turbs, I'd vote for a Mio Moov 300. 360 or 370 if you want Bluetooth. The 4.3 screen size seems more than enough and you can still carry it in your pocket for walking.
24. The answer is:- This one is built as a 2 seat plus baggage - like a J230. Empty weight is only 353kg, so it comes out better than many others with this space. When registered VH, it's good to 800Kg MTOW. Also, this one is set up so that you can't really put 2 adults in the back even illegally, because the CofG would be too far back. One built for VH would have the engine mounted a bit further forward. Builder's choice. The sums are all done, the wing loading is good, looks great, it just remains to be seen how it flies. I'm backing "brilliant". We'll know in a few weeks. You can build it for less than $70,000 with everything included too. No wonder Garry doesn't make any money. Best value on the market.
25. Do both files fail to load, or just all_wpts.wpt? I might have sent the wrong copy if just the latter.
