Be interesting how much force would be required to overcome a hard over locked solid servo?

Not many times that being older and retired is beneficial, but this is certainly one of those times!
So true that statement! I saw the writing on the wall with the Airlines a couple of years ago (CV just nailed the coffin lid closed for good!) and retired early, feel for those in their 40-50's though?

Three things off the To Do list today - I finished the engine service and general bodywork tidy up on my lawn mower, and I got to the can recycling place and got $28.50 for my cans and bottles. Then I went and topped up the petrol in the car and filled some containers so I've got 30 litres on hand. It's amazing when the figure in the cost window is less than the figure in the litres issued window.
I'm tossing up whether to go to Officeworks tomorrow to get some foam sheet to make an RC plane, or to go to the steel suppliers to get the steel to make the bike trailer.
Go to a hardware store and buy plenty of jerry cans cause when all this nonsense is over watch the fuel price rocket up faster than a politicians salary!

But you and I can avoid contact with suspect people. I would have just supported front-line workers and those who wanted help with their own measures.
It is a step too far in the nanny state to protect people who do not want it or see the need.
True but we are talking about DA, there's Vic's single biggest problem in all things governance!

After noticing that the sump-drain plug on my Jab 2200 was on the side of the sump, I tried an experiment: I used a suction tube through the oil-filler to do the draining. Then I undid the sump-plug and noticed that nothing came out. You obviously get a bit more with the suction tube ( I did start with a warm engine and left the tube overnight).
So these days, I just use the tube and it saves time and mess.
What device us used for the suction?

No, that's just one alternative to what we did. There's all manner of middle ground that could have achieved varying results.
Just because someone says they aren't in favour of a complete lockdown doesn't mean they are in favour of no controls at all.
Too true? Carpet bombing the whole country by our wonderful all caring Govt has had the desired effect, not in stemming the spread of the virus but stopping the spread of hope, prosperity and life!

Another nice day for a drive in da sky, a few about but a lot quieter of late? I like this lock down caper, no waiting for nufin'??

Not many IFA props out there and they are heavy and expensive, Never seen one on 2200
Especially the 4 cyl has vibrations that require damping
For a long time only the timber props would handle this reliably
Plenty of ground adjustable props? What's the point in having an engine that produces an advertised HP if it can't make it under certain conditions?
-
An adjustable prop would easily allow max RPM. I guess Std Jab props are designed to keep the engine within approved operating RPM but plenty of Jab motors are hanging off the front of slippery airframes with adjustable props.

You shouldn't have too much trouble unloading the 4 banger, they are. very popular ?

Be great if the most draconian state (Vic) used some common sense but oh no we must maintain the nanny state tag at all costs! ?

This is my FPV 'cruiser". It's a 'own-design' scratchbuild, basesed loosely on the ZOHD Talon. Dimensions are roughly similar to the Talon. Pusher prop 10 x 6, 750Kv motor, 45A ESC, 4-S LiPo, 3000mA/H. Materials: Balsa and Depron. Flying weight ~1.5kg. It is fitted with a ZOHD Kopilot (stabiliser and return-to-home, only) but once the maiden is complete and the model is trimmed out, I'll be installing a 'proper' Matek flight conroller with much more functionality. FPV camera and video transmitter will be fitted to the top of the canopy. (I might put the camera on a servo so it can be panned. I'll control it with the rudder-stick as this is a 'bank-and-yank' - aileron/elevator, only - model.)

That looks good?I see you are a 'tractor' driver too?

I think the older produced 85 but were still rated at 80.
I have an unused 2001 recon solid lifter that came with its dyno test sheet that showed it produced 85 continuous for the hour on test.
The man at Jabiru told me that this was their best version up until the latest.
Thanks for the info. Are you keeping yr rego unit for a rainy day??

Great photo that! ? I once flew along the Daintree river back in the 80's, rather low, was spectacular! Also along the Prince Regent River in a C210 rather low, two memorable flights ? Why do we fly? I don't try to answer that, I just do?

I see that on Wiki that Jab list a 80 HP & 85HP 2200??
Did they make a higher Comp ratio version?

Thread drift warning,
Down South of you (Victoria) we are having fertilizer and chemical shortages. How's your chemical and fertilizer stocks? . There are also spare part supply issues altho that's not a show stopper ATM. Planting's are definitely being effected. My advice to everyone PLANT A GARDEN.
I Love gardening, it's therapeutic and clever, free food and mental health medicine?

At a $150 bucks I'll keep doing it the cheap way?
