  1. I should mention that it took me 45 hours to get to solo standard, so I'm probably a bit of a "slow learner". Did you have the engine running or did you PUSH the plane around?
  2. Some of the cats I ate obviously had fish as their last meal....
  3. Could make an entry into the aircraft's logbook that the radio has a fault. Might make an enemy as well.
  4. My microair M760 draws 1.8amps on transmit and will operate down to 10 volts. Check you are getting at least minimum voltage AT THE RADIO when transmitting. I think most Jabs come standard with M760 radios. Will think on this for you. Kevin (Radio Tech from the 70s)
  5. You don't say much. Tell us a bit about yourself. Do you own a pub?
  6. And in the last days, the son shall forget where he put his fathers hammer he borrowed just the night before.......(Life Of Brian)
  7. In summer, here at Gawler, the sea breeze kicks in and flying in the later evening can be quite rough. However, in winter and spring it is just lovely. Touching down so softly you never spill a drop of your port.....
  8. I used to fly a PA28 then a mate said "You pay $120 an hour for a plane that does 100kts. Why not pay $100 an hour for a plane that does 120kts." So, I did the CSU endorsement on the TB10. Did a heap of 'Brighton Departures' and a few navs then the AFTC decided not to hire out their planes to just anybody, so ended my TB10 flying. That was in the mid-nineties.
  9. TWENTY DOLLAR LANDING FEE - TELL HIM HE'S DREAMING. THAT IS TERRIBLE.
  10. What is your ham call sign, mine is VK5KKS
  11. Well, without saying too much, I already do that. (But not in Melbourne)
  12. Air tractor roaring over the car park? I have seen the video...
  13. Sounds cool, look forward to seeing that. I to am into IT (programmer, C++. Mainly image processing, OCR and feature tracking stuff). Started flying thirty years ago.
  14. Hello. I am thinking of doing a navex to Tintinara from Gawler. No info in ERSA. Anybody been there? What's the condition of the strips? Could one expect tea and biscuits upon arrival or instead, be shot at?
  15. Yes, but the range seems limited. It would be nice if a flying school could see where their students are at any given time or your family could see where you are while flapping about. It was just a thought, guess I save on coffee and pizza...
  16. That is such a nice looking plane....
  17. Just remember folks, 99% of non-fliers say things like 'loops' and 'dives' when in fact none of these things occur. Eye witness accounts of plane crashes, car crashes, bank robberies and street muggings always need to be carefully analysed before coming to any conclusion. Maybe the pilot will come on here and tell us what really happened.
  18. I have not played with this so can offer no advice but try this link. It might provide a solution. www.flight-dynamic-simulator.de/
  19. Back in the seventies I knocked about with a well known Adelaide journo. He told me that they can only publish what people tell them and that one never ruins a good story with the truth.
  20. If you wanna get it done right go see "The Lord of the Rings".
  21. Came across this while hiding inside from the heat... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reRRgEET6Kw It's been around a while but it's good for a laugh.....
