The hanuman does have folding wings it is part of the kit it is actually allready installed in the main structure. I dont fold my wings & never have as I have no need to it is in a hanger.

I was at Wings over Illawarra at the weekend & one thing I did notice was the amount of expired ASIC cards Pilots had hanging around their necks. The only thing this card is good for is ripping $$$ out of our pockets????

Thats what I was thinking! From what Dead-stick has already said from his preliminary inspection ... the engine had done 1370 hrs, 3 topends and was supplied before the thru-bolt upgrade was put into production.Several people here have tried to ask the question in a subtle way .... forgive me for being direct but I can only draw from DS statement that this engine was not compliant with the Manufactures Safety Direction and was still running parts that are known to fail. The attached Service Bulletin... it says it all ... I hope all Jab owners have read this and make sure they have implemented these Safety Directions

Motz does this engine have less than 500 hours TTIS or more than 200 hours TSO. Did it have the newer style nuts fitted?Havnt vw been doing gasketless engines for years??Good to hear all are ok
-
Motz did this engine have the new 12 point nuts fitted? How many hours total time in service did the engine have?
Glad pilot & Pax were not hurt.

Spot on!My understanding is if the pilot has a ppl and ra cert AND the ra reg aircraft is properly equipped eg transponder and certified engine then the pilot can exercise the privileges of his ppl including cta. Is that not right? -

There is a fly in at Mittagong YMIG on Sunday 29th April all types of aircraft welcome. A BBQ will be run by the Southern Highlands Air League Squadron. Airfield information is all in the ERSA or at www.bdac.org.au Hopefuly the weather will be good to us.

I think you also need to look at the maintenance log books (which all aircraft should have & kept up to date) & the blokes that just have to tinker & fiddle with the engine. I think that is half the problem. (IMHO), you only have to get on the forms & read some of the hair brain ideas that some come up with. For the record I have a had 2 Jab engines in 2 different aircraft have no problems do the prescribed maintenance as the manufacture requirements. I would also buy a Rotax if it was going to be appropriate for my next Build . Horses for courses!

What about Jabirus not only flying in Australia but world wide?
Its like ford or Holden I use to repair more Holdens than Fords when I had my workshop. Some would say Fords are better others say Holdens.
Me personaly I think all cars are heaps of S#@t thats why I sold my workshop & started repairing aircraft.

Great video love the smile on all the kids faces that to me is what Aviation is all about.Greg's been a terrific ambassador for the Skyranger aircraft and recreational aviation in general. I have enjoyed many phone calls with Greg and have enjoyed his company on several occasions that he has passed through Temora, both connected with Natfly and on other occasions.I've always found Greg to be quick to support and encourage and slow to criticise people who are having a go. It's blokes like Greg (and Ian) who make the flying community a better group to hang with.Cheers, Mathew
PS. Check out a great mate's (Friar Puk) YouTube Skyranger clips. Puk was a camera man in a previous life so his editing is terrific.
Cheers Tony

Yeah I know that.Congrats on getting into the air. Well done.As a side note, you can still go into controlled airspace in RAA aircraft, just need a PPL and the required aircraft equipment like transponder etc... -
Thanks Mal. Why VH I hold a PPL & at the time of registering it RAA were in discussion with CASA to get a height increase & not sure if that was going to get passed. My personal opinnion is that SAAA are better orgainised than RAA.
Benefits Rego is a one off payment not annual, I can fly in to controlled airspace.
Downside getting the C of A was lot of extra work especially with weight & balance charts Xair manufacture is really limted they have a Excell programe where you in put the weights from your aircraft press enter & if the number comes up in the green she's in balance, CASA wants a little more than that so we had a bit of work to do on that.
Cheers

Thanks that would be great.Good question I will have to look. It's a sweet apple on jab motor and gives cruise of 82 knots. -
Thanks. I had seen yours at Natfly Temora last year on the Xair display stand ,what propeller pitch are you runing on yours?Same colour as my xair hanuman. Good stuff. -
Was at Natfly yesterday the forms I attended were well attended & presented. Plenty of aircraft not a lot of rag & tube, The trade sites were lacking some regulars that are normally attend but were not here this year(not sure why). There was a lot of Gyro's on display this which is good to see. Congratulations to the orgainisers & volunteers a job well down.
