  1. Wagners are generating tourism with the new airport at Welcamp.. Regards KP.
  2. Good on ya Maj you are on to it.. Where I will not be drawn into the he did he said avenues there was some noise regarding the magazine contract. The finer details escape me, that is why I asked in a previous post. One point I can remember this magazine has more gloss than the loosing bidder. Well bower birds go for bright shiny things. A good example of non-gloss... Who has "Modless Composite Homebuilt Sandwich Aircraft Construction".... Copyright:- Rutan Aircraft Factory. No gloss in that book even hand drawings however the information is great. Gloss does not change information only draws bower birds to have a look. Regards KP.
  3. Hello timb Seeing you have some history of the mag issues. I can remember the mag was the avenue to inform us of AD's and all those important things. Can you remember any thing about the current mag how the publisher won the contract? What I am after --- is regarding the publishers. When this mag was put out to contract this publisher won it because he could make it more glossy and so forth. The loosing bidder lost because he could hot make it as glossy however the mag was greatly less expensive. I can remember there was a lot of noise regarding the contract issue. I will stand being corrected on all issues ---- however I can remember the noise regarding the contracts and the two publishers. If someone can remember the issues we may get some answers to move on with to reduce the cost of the mag. Regards KP.
  4. Instead of sniping what about the good history old Middo started. Middo and couple of his buddies landed their drifters in front of Parliament House. Middo & Co did that to prove the safety of the drifters. Thank you Middo. I would like that story refined please. Regards KP
  5. Ditto..Ditto.. All you have post in your post.. Yes look at alternative paper transmission. Regards KP.
  6. I have been a member since the late 90's. If my memory serves me correctly, the membership fees were broken down. i.e.. So much for insurance, so much for the mag, so much for the admin. of the organisation. It was broken down for me -- as to where the funds were distributed. So when was the mag. taken out of the equation? I thought all that fund changing stuff happened on the big hill at Canberra. Regards, KP.
  7. Rus I will go along with that, Toowoomba is central however the Victorians will have a moan. The only down side is the controled air space, with a good working radio that is not a problem either. Regards KP.
  8. Question for you Maj.. This empire building which F_T is on about. When an organisation is expanding that is empire building is not it? (and good) If one does not expand then one only stagnates and disinergrates, is this true? Regards KP.
  9. Paper copy for me.. Because there is always someone wanting to have a look. The most important point for me the people asking the cost of the sports planes and I give them the mag and get them look at members market. The other big plus when one goes somewhere the mag is packed for self and all the sticky beaks wandering what we are about. Leave the mag for me. Regards KP.
  10. ....................................and kit constructors .. Regards KP.
  11. 01rmb. I like your points..You are correct this forum is a good place to get info.. One needs to do some sorting to be able to take the good stuff away, never can have too much info.. I know there is some complete trash here at times however some of it is useful as some times we start a different though process because of the trash. Store it as just down the track the penny will drop and all will be clear as crystle. It is a members organization and without member there is no organisation. regards KP.
  12. re. the statement "Quantifiable engagement bettween board members and ordinary members". We had our first ever fly in at Thangool and Thangool is in the South Qld devision.. We only saw one board member from the south, there are three down your way.. Ross from Nth.Qld came down and gave us his support and Ross enjoyed the week end and as did a big bunch of other people from Nth Qld.. For all the good information to hand about:- Ross won the greatest distance flown. Regards KP.
  13. One for you F-T.. Just a positive one. I would like to know what you can do for RAAus. to make us grown into the 21st. century? Regards KP.
  14. Thank you Maj.. Job well done. Now it is a simple execise for all "" Forget about those Lithion Ion batteries completely ----- DO NOT ----- use them"" Now put ones research energy into something other than batteries and share that. Thank you Maj. Regards KP.. PS..... Which batteries are used in the electric planes? Yes ------ I know they are charged before one takes off, however plane could burn before ya take off.
  15. Thank you for that I will look further into the workings of the unit, as I do have one -- good idea I understand its workings. Regards KP.
  16. Hi jetjr, As I believe -- the cold start kit you are 100% correct. I think part of it has a current feed. (Does not change the spark timing.) Thank you for the Fullriver information, they got me interested. I was looking for some one who has tried them. Regards KP.
  17. That proves --- birds are smarter than humans. Regards KP.
  18. I am wondering if anone has used those Fullrivers which one can purchases from Batteries Direct in Sydney? Looks like they are a new kid on the block and wondering if anyone has tried them. The guff I read about the Fullrivers:- Better than the Odyssey by way of less weight better cranking amps. We will see.. Batteries Direct is a good place to by Odysseys. Regards KP.
  19. Standing back and looking at the large picture :- *Nearly all what Wagners are up to is secret, till the project starts. *Who ever started the pasenger numbers idea --- looks hard to get the pasenger numbers. *To me the produce exercise fits. e.g. fresh fruit and veggies, milk and meat. *The smell of a rat is about the exercise -- I think it is produce of some form. Just imagine freight 747's in and out all night, through in a couple of Antonovs just for good measure. What about fuel for the monsters? Regards KP.
  20. There is some of the answers.. Thank you F_T. * A marketing programme and there is one 747 load of goats a week................................... 1st. plane load. * I had heard about the milk to China.. A big part of the milk will come from NSW. *I do ask why is so much importance placed on the new road up the range.. Is there something we have not heard? *Could it be chilled beef from Dinmore? *How many veggies grown in the Lockyer these day? Could it be veggies? What is the time saving (loading, flight time, transport in and out of terminal)to get to China, Asia, Middle East...........by leaving from Welcamp? Regards KP.
  21. Oi! F_T, If I could open it, I will know who you are esteemed with and/or which company. Regards, KP.
  22. H62/14 Here is the link to make life a tad easier, happy reading. http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/sup/s14-h62.pdf Regards KP.
  23. I can not imagine what drammas will generated with G20.. One has to ask is G20 worth it. There will be a 90nm radius of Brisbane airport -- restricted zone, I am not up to speed what is required to operate with in this zone. Get ones maps out have a look......... Past Toowoomba, Past Gympie, Past Lismore they are all included.. Who's hair brain schemme was that? 90nm in a puddle jumper who can imagine that and those people run our country. Regards Keith Page
  24. FYI. Dr.Zoos and dazza. As one is out and about doing the crafts of life, when one needs to get home, then flying is it. Then booking a flight becomes the new exercise, WELL. Brisbane to Rockhampton all day Monday, Virgin was fully booked even no room for sardine, then Tuesday morning was full no sardine room again. The very expensive seats were the only ones available from lunch time on (Tuesday), the sensible ones were all purcahsed. The only two sensible seats to be had, they were at 7.40 Tuesday night. Hence I was on the 7.40 flight there was no evidence of an empty seat when I got on the plane. I say Virgin was booked 100% for those two days, "yes" even waited a bit for take off. For me:-That section of the Brisbane Airport was full to capacity. No orbits coming into Rockhampton - Rocky was good. Regards KP.
  25. You are correct Dazza, To help you-----.. In and out of Rockhampton. Might be one or two seats empty occasionally going into Brisbane quite often have orbits sorta up Kingaroy way, not to mention the que for departing aircraft. The RPT out of Thangool quite often waits on the ground so the landing slot can be juggled. Sydney to Brisbane flights, orbits south of Brisbane are normal. I have a friend who flys for the RFDS and it is a regular occurrence --- he has to slow up coming into Brisbane, this is when he brags about the wiz wheel regarding ground speed calculations. This is a wiz wheel lesson everyone should have. Regards KP
