  1. Have a look at http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/employment/atc/atcrecruitment.asp Gives you some basic information on salary ranges.
  2. Good lanyards come with a safety clip that opens when it snags. I would recommend to everyone who wears a lanyard to get this type as it may save your life... arm... head... etc. I believe they are mandatory in operational/manufacturing environments for OH&S reasons, certainly they have been everywhere I have worked.
  3. Would that mean you are techically only doing theroy? Surely they couldn't find anything wrong with that? If you are not physically flying than there shouldn't be a problem... ??? :;)4:
  4. Hi Troy, Their theroy could possibly be that if you aren't physically able to work, than flying would be inappropriate as it would seem you are either not taking care of your injury or not as injured as you say, hence voiding your insurance. Same as if you played a game of squash or went mountain bike riding while on workers comp. Maybe their views not directly related to the risks of flying ?? I am just guessing about this, I have no knowledge of how workers comp works... Maybe you could tell them what an uplifting experience flying is and how it aids the rehabilitation process  Our disability and life insurances covers us for flying no problems... Good luck with it, hope you are up in the air soon!!! Cheers, Kaz
  5. Great report Paul, I've have never thought to go straight over the top of Sydney... now it's on the list!! On the way to Camden Haven I counted over 70 of those bulk carriers, it was certainly an unusual and awsome sight. Glad you finally made it home. Hope to come down your way and catch up again soon. Cheers, Kaz
  6. Excellent explaination Brent. I was hoping to have written the same sort of thing but I got too confused with my own version!!
  7. Glad to hear you finally got her home...we didn't go up today as the weather looked a little nasty around Canberra, I expect it was an interesting flight for you!! Looking forward to your photo's when you get a chance to post them... Cheers, Kaz
  8. I just spent 30 minutes typing a long winded response and then timed out and couldn't post it!!!! So now my short response is: FLIGHTWATCH and FLIGHT FOLLOWING are two totally different services. Information on Flightwatch Refer to API GEN 3.3 Section 2.11 Information on Flight Following Refer to AIP GEN 3.3 Section 2.16 http://www.airservices.gov.au/publications/current/aip/gen/3_3_1-24.pdf This should answer everyone's questions. Cheers, Kaz
  9. Hey Numptie, Do you have any more info on the Moruya Competition day? Cheers, Kaz
  10. Hi Darren, Canberra weather isn't crash hot at the moment, no rain but low cloud. He might be able to go around though if he stays away from the hills... a hard thing to do around Canberra! You almost ended up with Matt & I on your doorstep too! Weather around Sydney yesterday was not good! Made it home okay but the GPS track is very interesting... Catch you soon, Kaz
  11. Hey Bob, I arrived in the CT4 on Saturday just after the Strikemaster display... first person I saw was you waving!! Thanks so much for your assistance on the unicom, hope to get up there again soon! Cheers, Kaz

  13. Airconditioning is a must have! Along with electronic hanger doors and one of those little vacuum robots that can run 24/7 to keep the floor immaculatly clean!! I love Temora's floors, they are always spotless!! Thank you
  14. Ian, thank you for all your hard work organising this. ;) Count us in!! For another go at the VFR Route through Williamtown I am even going to try that thing they call camping... :;)6: We dont have means to get there yet but stay tuned... we're working on it!! Hopefully in the next few days we will have a new member of the family to introduce to you!
  15. Might see you in a few weeks in a 'new' plane... ;)
  16. I'm not too sure about 'Planes are sexy' comment... maybe it's a man thing... My dream plane would be anything with a cup holder and a head rest with built in neck support so I can nap...;)

    Welcome...

Haha, I wasn't joking!! When he changes his username it will mean he has moved on... or that I've bribed him with enough flights in other cool planes... or he's application for the RAAF has been accepted!!

    Welcome...

Hi Gregg, He's trying to think of a new user name but a little bit emotionally reluctant to give up the Sportstar title!! ;) I have suggested 'NoLongerAnAircraftOwner' a a username but that didn't go down too well!! Good to see you back on the forum;) Cheers, Kaz
  19. Please don't encourage him Baz, I'm considering sending him to therapy just to get him through the next 6 months!!;)
  20. Hey Ross, still hoping to make it, am currently trying to shuffle the service into the middle of the week... ;)
  21. In your bedroom? How can you sleep? The computer hum drives me nuts at night when I'm trying to sleep, I have to close the door to block it out... I bet Darren listens to it to go to sleep, like a lullaby...
