  1. What a surprise.
  2. Lucky they ended up in a good paddock and didn't lose the nose wheel.
  3. No...........
  4. It was/probably still is a life style for Al Gore, and I reckon Kevin Rudd enjoyed air travel, you will probably find he is still doing it at tax payers expense, what exactly do you think he got done apart from burning incredible amounts of kero? The world is locked into and addicted to burning fossil fuel, with out it things would just grind to a halt. A carbon tax will not change that.
  5. Maybe name calling is not the best but I find it tiresome when every time we have a warm day there is some git on TV claiming this is evidence of climate change. Even if the theory is correct what do you propose to do? and don't say carbon tax that is nothing more than just a new tax. Al Gore the big promoter of the scam was living in a place that used massive amounts of energy, Kevin Rudd another promoter lived in a jet, if these people actually were serious why are they worse polluters than most others? You yourself certainly should not be flying a plane for fun that just makes you a hypocrite.
  6. I felt the ALP themselves only did that because the greens forced them to so they could form a government and yet there are people out there who think it was a great idea.
  7. So do you think the carbon tax is a good idea? or is it just another way for the ALP to try to extract money from the so called 'big end of town'?
  8. That is very nice but the thread drift is about climate change and the carbon tax.
  9. We are having a warm winter at the moment and you know what the climate change wankers reckon about that. It is warm because we are getting wind off the ocean and not the usual westerlies, is this caused by green house gases? probably not.
  10. What would their carbon emission be? Second largest on the planet? What rip-roaring success! And their economy another joke clearly an example we must follow.
  11. Well we are not on the grid most of our power comes from wind and solar, does that help?
  12. If that is true then cause of the problem needs to be addressed, places like China, the US, I can't see how imposing a tax on Australians would have any effect on the climate.
  13. . Really? were you going to stop eating beef? driving your car? flying your plane? using electricity? All the carbon tax was going to do is stifle the economy and create poverty. What is our estimated carbon emission, 1% of the world emissions? And what about the scientists who say man made carbon is minuscule compared to other natural events such as volcanoes?
  14. Quite a thread drift here but what is new? 'Climate Change' another silly one, of course the climate will change, what else would you expect? should it just stay the same? The name itself is stupid, at the very least it should be called 'suspected human caused climate change'. There will always be warm and cold weather cycles and there will always be some BS reason proposed for a new tax.
  15. On good old channel 7 they said it was not thought to be in the Indian Ocean any more because of no debris being found and the situation was back to the starting point. On the same station last night was a story on the Sunday Night program about the 210 that went missing in the Barrington Tops in 1981. As usual the media slant was silly it was called Australia's great aviation mystery, to me I was mystified why an experienced pilot would make attempt to make that flight with a faulty vacuum pump and how they managed to stay in the air as long as they did.
  16. On the TV news some days ago it was reported MH 370 is no longer thought to be in the Indian Ocean and the so called pings were not believed to be connected to the missing aircraft.
  17. Maybe you are mixing in the wrong circles I have not seen that sort of stuff posted on here.
  18. Try watching question time on TV.
  19. There is a world of difference between those two one was the problem now we have an attempt at the solution.
  20. OK keep going as you are guys and see where it ends up.
  21. Hi RickH As you may well know this topic has been done before and it usually ends the same way, we are out numbered by the heavier, faster, more expensive bunch and it is true this is the market demand at work. To me the AUF was hijacked by these guys but that is history and we can do little about it now. Now we are told RAAus will be broke in 3 years trying to administer what we now have, LSAs and the rest of the stuff that was not what the AUF was created for. I am so very glad I have not spent too much money on aircraft and have happy memories of better times. Richard.
  22. Gee Neil you shouldn't have made the GM leave he seemed to be going OK.
  23. Of course the maintenance should be of an appropriate standard, unfortunately it is also important that it is seen that way. On these forums there have been plenty of people ready to bag our L2s, comments like 'you can get a L2 rating by doing a 2 day course' have been made.
