  1. Don't be so naive, when on earth do you ever get that from any governing body?
  2. How could so many have got it so wrong and thought FT is negative? must be one of the worlds mysteries. After all he is always so positive about most things.
  3. I have found talking to reps has been helpful in understanding what is going on, far better than some of the unsubstantiated stuff posted on forums. No one said they are perfect and never do anything wrong and we do not know exactly how it happened. With some people being serial knockers and in the habit of complaining about almost everything, it is not hard to imagine that someone thought it easiest to keep it quiet. If the members don't do their true diligence and vote a rep in who is causing these sort of problems, whose fault is that?
  4. Neither can I, but not for the reasons you suggest, I think the biggest problem is the broken down ponzi scheme commonly refereed to as the economy. The AUF was supposed to be about affordable flying but that was forgotten about. When the current pilots stop flying there will be very few to take their place. As has been said no one forced people to go the direction they have, they did it to themselves. Yep wrong I think, the problem is not enough people call their rep.
  5. So you are still with us David, it's been a while since I have seen you post anything.
  6. Yes never thought of that but that was the hot weekend we stayed in the air con. Also the battery charger has packed it in and I am waiting for a new one, I think it may need a firmware upgrade.
  7. Looks like that is a no. I can't get mine to work on position hold.
  8. Yeah fairly safe, don't know where you would get a blender that big anyway.
  9. Just wondering if someone has experience with one of these?
  10. Yes same deal here this must have been the driest wet season ever, JimG said he might do a trip up too.
  11. That sounds like a lot of fun you need a fan for that, apparently it will be the same tomorrow, my back is sore so might be rain on the way.
  12. Yep we are sitting inside with the air con going.
  13. I saw some thing like that at Clifton once someone took off in a Quicksilver from a flyin and flew away at zero height climbing to miss fences, clear sky no good reason for it, just flaunting the rules. Sounds like fun but when the inevitable splat comes it will be those dangerous ultralights that get the blame.
  14. Correct, it is unsustainable and can only end badly. Instead of addressing the cause of the problems we have governments going further and further into debt trying to prop the whole sorry mess up. In the late 70s I worked for GMH in Adelaide, you got into strife if you did more than a certain amount of work on a shift and I was told to go and sit in the dunny and do nothing. I was more content being busy but the union would have none of that, for them it was a matter of do less and demand more pay. It has taken years and a lot of taxpayer hand outs but now we have the inevitable result, and the workers did it to themselves, if they want blame some one they should look in the mirror. Thanks to stupidity, greed and laziness Australia is not going to end up still being the lucky country.
  15. Yes my opinion. I don't follow Murdoch if he says that then all that means is we have reached the same conclusion, time will tell, I was not wrong in 2006/2007 about real estate activity being unsustainable, and guess what, no one believed me then either.
  16. That would be no and no, I would be happy to be wrong about that post 8.
  17. It's not just the airlines in trouble it's nearly everything we still have not recovered from the GFC Australia is an over priced country, in short too many people are payed more than they are worth, accountants, lawyers, public servants, plumbers and so many more. We should not expect the tax payer to prop up failing companies, what is happening is unsustainable, there has to be a massive correction in ours and the world economy. Anybody who does not agree just see what happens, it is not a matter of if but when.
  18. Yeah I know this one, it's when you you let the clutch out too quick.
