  1. Hi all, is not the annual rego about the annual revenue. I had to take photos of the placards and do a weight and balance sent them off, an email return 5 days later requesting w&b be signed by l2 or l4 did that, 6 days I get a phone call saying I am missing an important placard so they are sending 2 to me to stick on front and back, and send more photos, none of this has not been on the plane since new an 88 model so problem of regos has been building for a long time, but having had 2 responses in 2 weeks seems as though something is happening, but I might not be flying for a little while yet. Have a safe and happy Christmas and good start to the new year. Mark
  2. Hi Patrick. Would I please be able to get a copy of the weight and balance calculation sheet? [email protected] Thank you, Mark

  5. Hi.With a 582 I have had carb ice 3 times 1 of those I caused just to make shore thats what it was I have now fitted water jackets to the inlet side of the carbs.I also have 1 carb with the same arrangement with an electric element pressed in where the water is on the others it is bigger than the water ones. As the water jacket heat the body of the carb all the time I think the electric would have to be on all the time because of the time taken to heat the body up . If there is nothing out there and someone knows the electrical requirements I could possibly make a batch, all it needs is a patern then casting and machining, . Mark

  8. Hi. I also agree with consistency I was able to do mine in 10 weeks majority in 5 weeks closely followed by 5 weeks for x.c. being able to keep things in mind is a great help. Then I got the drifter and at 53 hrs did a trip to Maryborough Qld. and that made me put every thing into practise. I think had it dragged out I would have had a lot of trouble picking up where I had finished last.Mark

  11. Hi kgwilson I like the fact that you can build and I would love to and I have a couple of projects but I am even finding it hard to put time aside for these so having one that works so close is handy for me at this time. I wanted to fly ever since I was 10 probably thanks to reading biggles but with medical things in teenage years I thought I would never fly RAAus changed all that. flyerme wrote about starting at the bottom and working up but I am interested in going back to basics and I have 2 scouts and a winton jackaroo to play with.. Mark
  12. Hi all. at 60 and not much cash I learned in a tecnam and then went and bought a drifter at reasonable price also found a hanger 10 min from home for $500 a year I have worked out that the difference between hire of the tecnam the fuel to drive 1hr there and 1hr back the drifter will be payed for after 120 hrs of flying, at the moment 90hrs drifter time, the advantage is that some of the experiences you have you are not going to get in a hired plane like packing the back seat with camping gear jerry cans and push bike and flying away for a couple weeks. I love the Drifter.. Mark
