check distribution spider the leg to the fuel pressure gauge is resticted i have seen this spider fitted incorectly with restriction supplying a carby cusing lack of flow hence lack of power easy to check remove hoses from carbies run aux fuel pump both flows should be the same Mick W -

check Lipo motorcycle battery on ebay very light ,many cca avaliable bit expensive but if weight is critical these save several kilos over equivelant AGM batteries Mick

bulk strip equates to overhaul refer jab maintenance manual 10 &25 hr checks required--- specifically refers to induction and exhaust mountings section 5:3 and 5:4 Mick

Altronics headset and Microair TX issues

the flex boom altronics were prone to this problem on different radios the wire booms did not suffer the problem we sent many back to altronics in my time as an avionics tech never found the answer -
tank was made to fit space avaliable same design as plans made from aluminium and welded the aircraft was built totaly from the plans with very few deviations the main change was the conopy lathing mine can be flown with ganopy open about 3 inches by the time you need a canopy we should be making them in S.A. Mick

will get it rite this time build a CX4 i did best thing since sliced bread approx 10k less engine & instruments Dave Thatcher answers emails almost instant and will talk on phone. plans easy to follow

fully plans built approx 2 1/2 years i did not keep a record of hours but was only worked on as a part time project airframe less engine / prop /instuments /avionics approx $10,000

I am using 80 hp limbach 2litre (certified VW) Arrow 54 x 46 prop 6hrs flown allin cct area so performance figures not real accurate (goes Quick) all extrusions ,chrome moly ,tubing assorted hardware from Wicks other bits from Spruce and Great planes all great to deal with Considerable savings over AU prices even with frieght all sheets from Airport metals Melbourne Please purchase plans direct from David he deserves a little reward for producing them plus he is a great bloke always ready to answer emails or telephone calls Regards Mick W
