Hello Steve. The vibe in the tail can be aggravated if you have any sort of windscreen extension fitted, at least on the WBs. I fitted an extension a while back which everyone in the syndicate liked but the flutter in the horizontal stab really increased. cheers John

It seems to me from my limited experience that the current situation in RAAus has a dictatorial flavour (secrecy etc) and this forum might reduce that. cheers John

My sons were home last week so managed two 1.5 sunset flights to Mount Warning and around the caldera. Cold but magic.

I got quite a shock the first time I carried a 110kg pax in the drifter. I've found adding a good 5kts is easier on the gear. cheers John

Hello eveyone, my name is John and I've been wanting to fly as long as I can remember (early 1950's). I finally got the chance when a good mate gave me a TIF the day before my 58th birthday. I started training on a Foxbat with John Gardon at Flight North near Ballina who showed enormous patience to get me through to my certificate. I bought into a Drifter syndicate at YTHY and Wayne Fisher got me through the conversion. Been having a ball since. Hope to learn a great deal from all the folks on this forum.
