You could look around for an old 96C - like I used to have. They do road and air. They also have the aviation database in them. Dunno their price but I'd guess around the $500 now. The C is for COLOUR screen. I've seen the 96's. They are ok, but I think the colour helps. Up to you though.

Well, this is the morning of the new year. That is my Jab parked in the fog. We were going to take off, but were worried that the fog may be everywhere and not burn off before we came back. I like these, but I worry when you see things like this included in them and not edited out before they are sent on: The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street. . . . . She is a government employee in Adelaide P.O. "Stoplight" is not an Australian term - as far as I know. It is more a Yank term. Unless there is an Adelaide in America...... It loses a lot of the funnyness.

(Dramatic music) Flying along listening to Sydney radar. New Year's day. About..... Ooooh, 1600 Sydney time. QF 41 doesn't want to go above FL 100. They are talking to Sydney Radar. "We seem to have a problem with the pressure. Talking to the engineers. Shall get back to you." Soon after QF 41 returns to Sydney. Runway 34 L. Anyone know more?

Ok, There is a NYE dusk flight being planned at Luskintyre. (JUST west of Maitland.) Also a New Year's Day flight the next morning - with Breakfast after the flight. I *MAY* see any questions posted - but they will have to be soon after time of posting. (14:45) When work is done, I am going home and may check the net again. No promises. Tomorrow I am leaving to fly there so won't be checking then.

I would love to fly there, but after last year and getting home by the skin of my teeth, William town now restricted/active and having to use the corridore, and the forecast weather: I think driving is the safe option.

Well, the weather gods were smiling upon me today. Lovely weather. Took off from YWOL. Next stop, YSBK. 3 Circuits. Then off to YSCN. Touch and go there then back to YWOL. Shame no one was with me taking more piccies, but hey, such is life.

Ok, I got the name/term wrong. But from what I read, I CAN go flying in their usual airspace suffice to do a circuit or two, and fly around some parts of their airspace which I usually can't get to. I just hope Mr Weather is kind to me on Saturday.

I shall try to remember to call Bankstown airport tomorrow and ask, but...... Before these new rules I was told that on Chrissy day, Bankstown tower closes - it is THE ONLY day a year it is closed. Consequently you COULD fly into and land at Bankstown, so long as you left that day. The airspace became non-controlled. CTAF-R I think it was it would be. So, I am wanting to know if it will still happen this year, or what rules apply? I would like to fly there and have a bit of a fly around the "airspace" for that one day. Anyone know?

Hang on. Don't rip Telstra for "Slow servicing of the phone". It isn't theirs. They didn't make/manufacture it. If it is brand new and it was faulty, you should get a new one. There are logistics which need to be done. The time also depends on how long the manufacturerereerrreee (what ever) feel like taking. If they are all on holidays (as most people are this time of year) it may take longer. However, you may get it back sooner.

Tsk tsk tsk BlackRod. Do I detect a bit of resentment. Yes, what you say is true, however you did seem to skip over the part which says this is happening to just about everthing and it is a trend for most businesses.

REastwood, Sorry I wasn't meaning to sound like I was having a go. I kind of appreciate: When the big fan stops, there is a set list of things to do in THAT order. And if you aren't that high, the list is even shorter. I was only asking. Also as I said before, it is good to see you made it ok. I have been close to situations like that but never THAT far. As much as it would (probably be) an underpants changing experiance, it is also a good learning curve huh?
