Just saying. Flew Brisbane to Newcastle Jetstar A320. Joined Downwind, Height felt under 2000, Turned Base and Final in a reasonablly tight circuit. Unreal turning that close to the ground.

One thing always in the back of my mind. We are taught to use the whole runway and I do in case of mechanical issues. When doing touch and go's you lose that luxury. Especially in a students case maybe touching down further down the runway (Gympie is tarmac and in hot weather). Then operating electric trim etc can take time. By the time you rotate all runway options may be gone.
When I purchased an aircraft recently I initially would land, taxi back and utilize the whole runway.

Yeah I saw the other thread. Last drifter that tried the crossing went for a swim.

A lot of water and a lot of Tiger Country and a lot of Trust in a single engine. If the noise should stop in many locations on that video the result would not have been good.

Most important to reduce revs prior to changing pitch to fine so as to not over rev the engine.

A nose wheel wouldn't have faired so well in the soft sand.

The splitting of the site aviation here and non aviation "What's up" has to me disjointed my experience in the forum/s. I prefer it as it was.

I knew a female pollie who got in under Howard (sounds interesting) with passion and goals for change. Was told to shut up and tow the party line. Right or wrong at least the Red Head chases what she believes in, As far as sitting in the RHS what better way to get a overall geo/3D perspective of where your constituants abide. I don't think very many of the public would even know the the plane she flies in is RAA, GA or whatever.

Spotted them filling up early Thursday at YCAB

always make inbound call and joining call, if no other traffic that is sufficient. If circuit is busy 2 plus training, comings and goings, than make all calls. Always make taxi, entering and departure calls.

I was expecting the scale of the event to be recognised, 1000 small boats (yeah cgi req'd), 350,000 + rescued. Was a good movie about a small bit of a big event.

I'll take the wrath from my peers, I think everyone should have a radio for reasons as outlined by Pearo, and should be properly trained to use it. Yes the rules say not required and some defend that, but of those above who do support the rule, who chooses not to carry a radio,

Hi Fred,
I got the 20s dual pack and installed in helmets for PIC and PAX and have the SR10 with vhf chord from Adrian with the amplifier. All works so well. Very important when first turning on the VHF to precharge the amplifier with a couple second press of the PTT as the amplifier is powered by the SR10.
