  1. Depending where you operate from you may also need to fly in and out of controlled air space and do a few mandatory landings at controlled airports. Radio calls will need to reflect this ability I would imagine.
  2. Please keep us advised on what is found. It sounds like an interesting problem.
  3. I had made the assumption that the 'no spark' was describing a miss in the running of the engine. The coil would still energise the plug but no where near the compression stroke and therefore develop a miss.
  4. I do similar things when in a commercial plane. The other day OzR worked almost all the way from Townsville to Brisbane, some 1500k if doing by road. We were above 30k ft most of the way.
  5. Sounds like the plug wires are on the wrong terminals of the distributor cap. It is easy to get wrong but would have to be wrong on both caps for no spark to be at either plug. There will be a diagram in the Jab manual.
  6. Ian - I read this forum on iPad and find the spacings a little too close together when selecting the title, due to big fingers I s'pose. I also need an extra step to read each topic now. E.g. I select NEW to get new posts to the forums, get the NEW menu, then select the top line to show all unread. I'm not sure how others read this forum but I do that after each topic is read so that only the unread ones show. Is it possible to have an UNREAD button so it can be selected after each topic is read? Otherwise, it appears to be a well thought out change. Cheers
  7. Were these mods done by Jabiru Phil? I saw an engine at the factory some time ago where they were experimenting with twin carbs.
  8. I would believe this is about rated stall speed rather than any aircraft temperature issue.
  9. Well done Sean! I hope you have many years of enjoyment from the sport.
  10. Next step is to try the sync on iTunes then maybe ask OzR for assistance. They return email quite quickly from my experience. I had a runways issues showing on plans and it was fixed very quickly.
  11. Wow - Too deep for me this time of night Russ!!
  12. At which point did it stall? Could it be that it is struggling gathering all the information for the email or do you think there is an issue? I only have about 20 waypoints and it gathers quite quickly into an email.
  13. Interesting. Do you think the waypoints will come across?
  14. Yep, understand. So either try the sync idea via iTunes or go to OzRunways, settings, user waypoints and all of the waypoints will be listed. In the top RH corner select export, then an email window will open for you to email the file to yourself. Then import the file into the new copy of OzR.
  15. I would do a sync on iTunes first. That should copy the whole iPad. You can restore the info to your new one. I have just done it to my new iPhone and had to reinstall all the maps but all of the plans and waypoints attached to the plans came across. I noted that it copied the maps from the iPad to the phone connected via the same wifi point. I thought that was quite smart.
  16. I agree with this but the whole pad will be duplicated but that may not be what is being sought.
  17. OK - I'll have another attempt. Settings - User Waypoints - Export (the group you wish to export) - email to yourself - Import into the new program on the new iPad. If that does not work....... I give up....
  18. Mnnnnn.... Good point. I'll do a bit of further looking.
  19. Home → Knowledge Base → Getting Started → Importing custom waypoints Updated at 18 Apr, 2013 06:56 AM If you have a bunch of custom waypoints, for example in an excel document, there's a way to import them into OzRunways via an excel program that a dedicated user of OzRunways (Patrick F) has written. It's not really supported as a "100% working feature" so our support will be limited in dealing with any problems (you may need to fiddle with the excel document yourself). Anyway onto the solution, download the Excel document here: OzRunways_Userpoints_Rev1.1.xlsm And watch this video on YouTube: The generated .ozplan file from the spreadsheet can be opened by OzRunways which will dump all the waypoints into OzRunways ! Enjoy. Try this: it did not copy the video but you can see it in the information section of OzRunways.
  20. Export the plan containing the waypoint by email to yourself and import into the new iPad, or, I think it will sync on iTunes and you can restore from iTunes to the new iPad.

  22. They are making a number of postings on Facebook. Most have been quite interesting to look at.
  23. I tried a 12v version for the lighter socket without success and then trialled a 24/12v Belkin 2.1a output and it works fine. I read to do that on a forum, maybe even this one. I do note that if the pad has a low charge it does not increase the battery % available, but holds whatever charge there is in the pad. The reasoning for the 24/12v Belkin was (I think) that the filtering was better suited for the battery issues that could occur with the Jab charging system. Maybe someone remembers what was written at the time. Anyhow, it has worked for at least 100 hrs without issue of charging although once the pad dropped out on overheat but it was a 38deg day and I left the pad in the plane on the floor wrapped up in a towel whilst I was away from the plane for a few hours. As soon as I connected the pad to the charger it dropped out on overheat. 15 minutes in the terminal airconditioning soon fixed that issue and it operated the 1.5 hrs back home without issue.
