  1. Happy to pay a bit more.HSI’s are so out of date.

I want the AH function and a decent nav function on the next page.

If you have the $$. I have my ipad mounted right next to efis, so no real need for me to think about that. Seems I don't have an appropriate pic to share. But if you want one, will see if I can get one.

  3. I have heard about the limited TIF as well from our CFI for raaus. Has potential. I think the GFA has something similar with Air Experience Flights.

For us, where I am a member and fly, we are a volunteer club, and instructing is not every day of the week, 2.5 days at most for raaus, gliding is a little different. We are more word of mouth for raaus, as we are after club members. We are also a gliding and raaus club, so we have instructors covering each type. And most instructors are retired and those who are not, it is a every second weekend thing or so. For me, it will be a 1/2 day every 2nd week.

Understand those doing it for a day job, yes you have to make a profit to make it viable. I just want to see more people, and young people getting into aviation.

  4. I noticed the report and while a low accident rate is very good, I wonder about RAAus. Michael Link goes on to say he pauses to senate and also that he sensates a lot. Do you senate? I don’t think I have ever heard senate used as a verb in normal language. He seems to be very good at flowery language which may or may not be really intelligible. A trait common to politicians.$77000 has been used for scholarships and they want to double that. I wonder just what the average member gets from that?

There is a nice write up for Southpac Aerospace. What do they do for us? Again rather like the politicians. Pay good money for advice, just to cover your butt.

RAAus would do better in my opinion by using plain language such as we use daily, they would also do better by talking to us,rather than just sending us advertising.

I was a lucky recipient of a scholarship, and I can tell you that doing my instructor rating now is giving back to our club and new recreational aviation members where we are all volunteer instructors. With this assistance, it means we can continue to provide additional instructors for minimal cost.

  5. With 20 mile CTAF I have no doubt that this problem exists in a few other areas.Home strip and strips East and West are 126.7 but strip 16 nm to the North is 127.65 and strip 14 nm to the South is 127.85 so it is possible to have three planes in the same airspace all on different frequencies.

Yes, similar in many other places.

  6. I bought an 19 registered in march, with a 912 UL engine, it has 470 hrs on it. Have done almost 100 hours in it, costing me around $30 to $40 hr to run. Well worth it for me. My rotax TBO is 1200, but it can be run on condition after that. But it will take me 6 years or so to get there!!. The early 80HP engines have been known to get well over 2000hrs, heard of one over 3000hrs, but need to be well maintained.

  7. Without being terse, it doesn't matter what the question is, the fact that a response states 7 - 15 business days, to me, seems unacceptable.

It is a membership organisation, with not that many staff. It can likely be quicker if they have more staff, but that will cost the members more. Does anyone know the work load in the office?
