    New J160?

Looks great, that new panel is starting to grow on me.
  3. The J170D looks very nice, and sounds like it performs very well also. How do you find the new panel? It looks high in the pilots area and thought that it may restrict visibiliby a little. That is most likly the photo. I do like the aircraft. Jabiru just keep moving forward and slowly but surely there aircraft are ngetting better and better.
  4. Hi Ryan, I think you will find this is the guy that was taking photo's. From what I know he is the photographer that covers the event when held at Watts. So I would think it will be him. Check him out. http://www.focusedonprops.com.au
  5. Thank you so much for that Scott, much appreciated indeed.
  6. I was wondering also what hours it was based on. I plan to do about 100-150 hours per year. I would think your list would be quiet accurate info from what I already know of the Jabiru engine.
  7. Thanks for the info. Your right about it being a buyers market. I want to be happy with what I buy. The more people I talk with the better.
  8. I have posted before but thought I would give it another go. I have a Garmin Aera 500 and want to buy Airnav Flight Planning. Can anyone tell me if Airnav will work with the Garmin Aera 500? I have tried unsuccessfully to contact Sentinent Software by email and phone to get an answer on this. I can't get a positive answer on this anywhere. Hopefully someone out there is using this setup. The Garmin Aera works really well without using a flight planning software. I like the idea of being able to do plans on the computer with the Airservices maps. The software is sold here on Recreational Flying.
  9. I posted this thread in Aviation General Discussion, but thought I would add it here also. Looking to purchase and looking for where I can find any info to get the real cost involved of owning and running a Jabiru J160. I'm sure this would have been covered many times, so if you can point me to where I can find info that would be great. The more feedback the better. I have looked through the search section and found some info.... Maybe just some recent updated thoughts would be great....thank you.....
  10. Thanks for the info Don, just what I need, to get the real cost of ownership. Buying the aircraft I think is the cheapest part I feel...
  11. Could someone point me in the direction of where I may find info on Jabiru J160 annual costs. I'm giving thought to buying one and I want to know the real cost of ownership. I did think there was a download section with info there, but I couldn't find that. Thank you....
  12. Looks very nice. Would love to see some more photo's if you have some available.
  13. I'm using Mapsource-Trip and Weighpoint Manager to download waypoints etc to the Aera 500, works just fine.
  14. I bought a Garmin Aera 500...what a unit this GPS is. Very easy to use, doing flight plans, waypoints etc etc. I'm very happy with the purchase. I would still like to buy the AirNav software, I have a few qustions I wanted to ask them...sent of an email at least a week ago. Still no answer...makes me a bit uneasy about buying it now....
  15. Thanks for the info, the Garmin Aera 500 looks like the way to go.
  16. So plans are easy to enter manually? What if you have co-ords, are they easy to enter also? I like the sound of it being easy to enter plans manually. Regards
  17. From what I have read about Airnav so far, this software will sure suit the ipad. I wonder if they are thinking of doing it for the ipad, the sooner the better I would think...
  18. I'm also in the market for a new GPS, also thinking of buying the Garmin Aera 500. I also want to buy Airnav flight planning. I'm still unsure if the Aera 500 will work with Airnav, can anyone answer this for me? Thank you....
  19. Caboolture Recreation at Caboolture is the way to go. They operate 2 Jabiru 160 a Jabiru 170 a Gazelle and also have a Piper Cub on the RAA register. They are a very friendly lot to. Highly recommanded.
  20. hey thats great....all the best with your flying, may see you around ycab sometime.
  21. Thanks pioneer200, i will send a few e-mails and see if i can find out.
  22. Great photos of NZ. What is the requirment for flying RAA type aircraft in NZ? I think about doing just what you have done, but wonder about the requirments? Maybe you can help me here. Thank you.
