As I was looking through the replay of Flightraday24.com I found there was another aircraft VH-JEA from Toowoomba doing a search pattern on a west of where VH-PPQ was searching. I just read this accident report the other day! It doesn't mention the the pilot was female, or that the deceased was her son, but it definitely sounds like an unnecessary low "beat up" over the car that was providing runway lighting on a night takeoff.

Hi All, After a 10 year break from General Aviation (due to medical issues) I am excited to be once again looking forward to aviation again! My goal is to earn my RPL and then build a 2 seat like the Skyranger (or similar). Regards, Colin
