I believe that the safest route is from Wilson’s Prom, Flinders Island to Tassie.  Maybe not able to land everywhere but ditching close to shore sounds better than ditching at sea. Not much of a diversion for you.

And so they should not try to name the brand of aircraft/truck/bus/mazda if they DONT know the facts.

The Kitfox 4-1050 and Kitfox4 1200 were specific Max weights when produced by Denney.

Later Kitfox 4s received a weight increase to540kg (1050 to 1200 lbs).

Maybe check the device battery. Limited life in them.

There are different attitudes around.

I am not suggesting that LAMEs are a cure all nor to be mandated but they are a resource that could be used where appropriate.

Pilots can’t fly all aircraft and LAMEs can’t service all aircraft.

I have experienced ordinary servicing by LAMEs, L1s and L2 s as well.

You can can only regulate so much.

It would be reasonable for RAA to create a technical membership for LAMEs at a reduced annual fee. This would allow a greater access to skilled services for the members who cannot effectively carry out servicing. 
As with GA instructors who have only a few RAA BFRs it is not economical to retain their RAA membership to provide this service.

Thanks, I have the operating manual but it does not have instructions for adding airport locators. I have added waypoints but would like the listing as an airport.

I have just bought another aircraft and it has a Garmin 695 fitted.

The data base does not contain minor airfields such as YKTN.

Can a member tell me how to add airfields to the device or give me a reference to where this is detailed?
