  1. I am using Cortec VpCI-373, a corrosion inhibitor that is recommended by Zenith.  VpCI-373 is frequently used by North American aluminium aircraft builders. So far, I have found it easy to apply with a brush.

This Cortec product is supposed to prevent any vapour (and airborne corrosive salts) entering into the small gaps between the riveted parts which may eventually cause corrosion.

One reason would be that not a 600kg MTOW aircraft at present.  For the past 18 moths or so the airframe and wings of all Swifts and Nynjas are 600kg; they are just finalising the 600 kg undercarriage.  Then they will be a 600kg aircraft approved aircraft.

Mine is 286kg light and 540kg MTOW.   I expect the 600kg upgrade may add about 10kg to light weight so an extra 50kg payload.  I'll make a removable pod under for my chairs and tent to save storage in cabin area.  Will be awesome then.

Does your one have the 600 kg wing? ...or are you planning to 'beef up' your wings to the higher weight performance??

Interesting fact about the Pepsi-painted Concorde - they only had it in that colour scheme for 16 chartered flights, and because it was blue instead of the normal white, the pilots had to fly maximum of mach 1.7 instead of the normal maximum 2.04.  (Because of skin heating).

Must have cost a fortune for that advertising campaign!

It cost about twenty million US dollars.

On the morning of Christmas Eve, the Aeropup took to the skies for its check flight.  Passed with flying colours and no post flight adjustments were needed.  Very pleased that my aircraft is all signed off and operational 🙂

Subject says to all, after a lot of work by Aeropup at Gympie it’s finished!  Had a folding wings conversion, Rotax rubber replacement, instruments calibrated, engine with 345 hours but has to run on condition inspected,  Sweetapple prop refurbished, new tyres and brakes refurbished.  Along with other minor items. Hopefully get test flown in the next week 🙂

Then I will trailer it home....

Perhaps you could share a few pictures?

It's probably clearer with the Vertical Stabiliser/Rudder. Usually the vertical stabiliser is a symmetrical wing - same curvature on both sides. When the rudder is moved from its neutral position, does it create lift on one side by changing the camber of the symmetrical wing, or is it just a sheet of material thrust out into the airstream to cause drag?

When the aircraft is an a steep bank angle the rudder will produce lift.
